Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I should've said shot dead too, it may have been more accidental!

Nothing to be sarcastic about. I genuinely didn't know that

Was mentioned a few times so never know.

Zaph, yeah I don't think any player covered themselves in glory at all.

So everyone talks about the tradition and romance of the cup and BBC returns the draw to a Monday night as that was when it was always done and people hate it.

Draw has been on Monday nights again since the BBC got the rights back from ITV

Yes, but usually after a match. Not on a silly chat show.

Yes, but usually after a match. Not on a silly chat show.

Not that long ago the traditional time was lunchtime on the Monday on the BBC news program.

But ITV moved it around a bit, sometimes on the Sunday afternoon before all games were complete, or even started.

As everyone says the FA Cup needs something to give it a lift, having the draw during a popular TV show fits that.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,050 ✭✭✭✭The Talking Bread

I don't see what the problem is putting it on after the last match of the round. Seems perfectly logical and I don't see how it is any more "romantic" or traditional to stick it on during The One Show. If you ask me it is the complete opposite.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,287 ✭✭✭✭citytillidie

Yes, but usually after a match. Not on a silly chat show.

No it was always on a Monday evening around 7:15pm, last few rounds it has been before the Monday night game, this round there is no Monday night game

Ok, I think it would be better suited to after the last televised game of the round rather than on a random chat show. Nothing more to say here! I personally can't see any argument for saying it is better for tradition and romance to have it where it is now!

Surprised all the PL sides were drawn apart, Leicester probably the only side in any real danger if you looked at the draw at a glance.

meh, he is better off losing to be honest. He isn't going to win the FA Cup so throw out a makeshift team and prioritise the disastrous league season. It should be a case of try and get a win to build confidence but Swansea is such a huge game now that they can't afford any injuries

I'd say he'd write off this game and the UCL games if he could swap them for 9 points.

Really? If he gets beaten on Wednesday night and gets knocked out of the CL, which is odds on for me, I think he could get the chop.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,050 ✭✭✭✭The Talking Bread

He will definitely be knocked out of the CL. If he loses against Swansea that may be it. But to be honest I think it is too late. I got them at 10/1 to be relegated less than a fortnight ago and I'm quite confident they will go down. The players are all over the place while clubs like Hull and even Sunderland are showing a bit of fight

The way they pronounce Keogh always gets right under my skin. Key-Oh.

Anyway. Leicester deserve to go through on balance. Cracker of a strike from Ndidi too.

How should Keogh be pronounced out of interest.

I'd pronounce it Key-oh. But others pronounce it K-yo. Shooting off at a tangent here, but why does Keogh always look wrecked whenever I see him on the box? That gaunt, haggard look, you know? I'm assuming he's a fit fella, so it's puzzling why he looks like he's about to keel over.

Could conceivably have an all Premier League qf draw. Or on the other hand no PL sides in quarters

I mean, their way is totally fine, and it's how the player himself would pronounce it (being English), its just one of those bug-bears for me. Just much prefer the sound of the Irish pronunciation.

Key-oh sounds so much better to my ears. K-yo sounds very harsh, it jars on the ears. In my mind anyway. Each to their own though.

    Anyone watching burnley v Lincoln??

I wouldn't blame anybody if they aren't as it's absolutely woeful but good old Joey had provided a talking point.

Stamps on the big Lincoln forward and then goes down claiming to be elbowed when he wasn't. Hopefully another ban incoming.

It'll be interesting if "tough but fair" Sean Dyche has anything to say about Barton, that was just embarrassing.

He really should be embarrassed by that. Acts the hard man but ****s himself at the first oppprtunity.

Dyche has always come across as no-nonsense. Would like to see him condemn it
