Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Indo and their removal of comments

    Has anyone else noticed this?
The Indo will occasionally just 'pull' the comments section (not just individual comments) Happened just now in the story of a CF sufferer claiming to be 'poisoned' on a long haul flight and complaining basically that some Irish support agency in Australia didn't help as much as she thought they should.

Lots of people commented on how ungrateful she was, then I see the comments section now gone. I have seen this happen with stories before. Are we all supposed to sympathise with every story printed and if not then the paper airbrushes out the comments section?

Usually comments are disabled for legal issues - this can be beforehand (sub judice) or afterwards (libel). The paper getting embarrassed for what it has posted is another, rarer, possibility.

I got the impression that Indo open comments for about 2 days then just close and get rid of them
