Should really have said Replacing as opposed to Extending. Finding the 4m cable with our Chargemaster isn't long enough and would like to replace it with an 8m cable. Wondering has anyone else done it? Looks to be simple enough though the proper cable is relatively expensive at £7 per m.

cable to the chargemaster or cable from CM to car

if its the Car, just buy an extension cable http://www.evcables.co.uk/72/Type-2-Type-2-Charging-Cables

or rewire the charge master with a longer EV cable , but you'll have to open the charge master which voids the warranty , changing the cable is easy

Wanted to rewire to make the cable longer. Think I'll just site the charger further away from the house instead.

yes far cheaper then buying the charging cable. even for me, as I have the connectors and hydraulic crimpers, Id still just move the charge point

Charging cable (with plug one end socket the other), yes, but to rewire the charger with a 9 metre cable instead of the 4 metre cable would cost about €60. Not a huge amount of money. Decided to locate the charger down the driveway instead as it's easier to wind up a 4 metre cable than a 9 metre. i.e. less actual manual labour, semi-daily, involved.

If you were to buy the cable for a 9 metre extension how would you rewire the EV plug. It's all crimped terminals !!! , alternative use have to buy a type 2 sockets which is about 90 euros !!! , you won't get a connector based extension. For less then about 120 euros at best.

    Where's the 60 euro come from ?

I can replace the pins for around €30. I've found someone who sells the cable for €3 per metre (so I'm told, will believe it when I see it). But I've also found places in the US that'll sell plug and cable as a set for not a lot more.

All a moot point now anyway as I don't want a big long cable to have to wind up every time it's used.

Id love to see that €3/metre 5 core EV cable !!!, if you do m send them to me , the best Ive done is £5/metre for 16 and £7 /metre for 32. I just finished adding a tethered 32A to my ABL rolec
