Posted a tread a few years back on this but noticed Tesco are still advertising Non-Irish products as been Irish one example is Jacobs Cream Crackers (Irish Version) which are now made by Vieria a large biscuit manufacture in Portugal on behalf of Valeo Foods . Why do Tesco mislead shoppers to believe products are Irish when they are not?

    I think it's obvious why, don't you?

Personally I've given up on the country of origin of most products, as some are just not made here so no point looking for an Irish version, others just state 'made in the EU', and others are the brand I prefer regardless of origin.

Valeo (Jacobs cream crackers etc) manufacture in Cabra.

Jacobs Cream Crackers is an Irish product.

    Its not "Made in Ireland"

Waterford Crystal is an Irish product. With exception of specialist pieces, its not made in Ireland.

Dubarry Shoes are Irish - not made here.

NIKE & Converse are 100% American - certainly not made there (Converse was until 1988)

UK Version of Monopoly is a British product - Made in Waterford.

Botox is a quintessential American product - Made in Westport, Co. Mayo

IMO - You have a brand's heritage place and you have the place it is made.

Also - its Valeo foods that states Jacobs Cream Crackers is an Irish product, Tesco are just using the information provided.
