Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Liverpool need to get their finger out, Spurs with plenty of the ball.

Niall Quinn doesn't like zonal marking. I'm shocked.

Why do most modern day managers prefer zonal marking but most Sky pundits?

Most pundits in general, not just Sky ones. Pundits are also generally those who failed at management or else not interested in it at all or not good enough. Says it all really.

    Winks and Trippier.

I wonder how Liverpool practice set pieces in training even the reserves here are hopeless defending them.

True, true. Heineken must be feeling the pinch, though, with their key obnoxious gob****e demographic moving towards craft beer and mixology.

Well, we got to see Moreno actually track a runner there a minute ago. Make a wish!

So many balls flopping around for both teams. No one is holding it .

    Poor game.

Anfield must have one of the worst atmospheres in the Premier League. Like a library. I thought they increased the capacity?

Early tempo was good, got very quiet the last 15 mins though. I think the crowd are asleep too.

Me too. I'm just a grumpy auld lad who resents hipsters' ability to get into jeans I could only use on an Action Man.

Actually, time for an Odell's Five Barrel, methinks.

Liverpool are winning so what are you doing in here? :pac:

Spurs are putting in the miles but can they keep it up, Liverpool need to get a bit more proactive and go hunting.

Those are all cardboard cutouts to make it seem full.

Is there no stream of the Leeds game you can watch?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,466 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Who knew passing a ball to a team mate was so difficult.
The game is one that is disrespectful to the competition
Hope we make it through though

With the exception of the first few minutes, the atmosphere has been non existent. Really is poor when compared to elsewhere in the UK and Europe

When we're winning they have to criticise us somehow.

    It was grand earlier.

There was a dull period in a game involving second string teams on a Tuesday so what do you expect?

Also, TV doesn't always pick up all the sounds.

I was expecting changes for Liverpool, but not 11 of them. Spurs doing the same basically, although I assume Dier started last weekend at least? Not sure about the others.
Klopp said in the press conference yesterday that it's not about who played last weekend but who will play next weekend. Those players that haven't been playing recently are getting an opportunity tonight.

    Quinn deffo in Spurs corner.

    What a cross from Origi.

Ejaria has looked a bit overwhelmed tonight I think.

Sturridge really should have put that away.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,546 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

Two sitters missed by Sturridge tonight.

You expect an atmosphere of some volume. There was near enough silence at times in the latter part of the first half.

Ticket prices, availability and the difficulty in getting tickets together are all obvious and logical causes, the fact remains however that as with many English clubs, it's exceptionally poor for the most part

Derek with another great ball wasted by Sturridge

Terrible in fairness. Maybe he's a bit rusty though.

We really should be further ahead here. Ings to get 30 mins perhaps?

I'd like to see Ings get a run out in this half.

There is a direct relationship as to what is happening on the field to the noise of the crowd.

There was nothing happening in the game in the period you are referring to.

They are a lot nosier now.

The crowd feed off what's happening on the pitch. Nothing happened for lots of the first half. You can hear the difference now that we are on the front foot properly.

There was definitely a hand grabbing at Sturridge there. Could've been a great goal otherwise.

Well he has scored one and was in the right position for the other two despite people accusing him of being lazy.

When we're winning they have to criticise us somehow.

It's an observation, and a fairly apparent one to anyone with hearing irrespective of allegiance.

Atmosphere certainly picked up over the last few minutes

Berbatov was incredibly lazy but often got into good positions, they're not really related. People call him lazy because of things like the fact he hasn't made a single tackle in nearly 6 hours of league football this season.

    Fantastic from Sturridge there.

He is putting in a shift tonight

Moreno's hair is fcuking criminal. It's like someone left a skunk on his mallet.

Liverpool need to take one of these chances because there's a goal in Spurs.
