Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The fans really don't like Origi, they've been shouting at him all game trying to put the lad off. It sickens me.

Derek Origi suddenly coming into this game, hopefully he scores before he gets subbed for Ings.

They surely missed a trick by not giving Winks the no. 40 shirt...

As did Liverpool with Sebastián Coates.

We really need to kill this off though with a second goal

As did Liverpool with Sebastián Coates.

I'm still annoyed Liverpool didn't sign Granit Xhaka. Imagine a midfield of Xhaka Can.

Much better second half so far.

    Worst fans in the world.

Moreno's been very good tonight. Certainly not a lost cause, but definitely in need of directions.

There is a direct relationship as to what is happening on the field to the noise of the crowd.

There was nothing happening in the game in the period you are referring to.

They are a lot nosier now.

There is, as you say, a direct relationship. My point was just that at times it's dead. That's not the case elsewhere when there's not much happening in play, hence my point that relative to other grounds, Anfield is a library.

With the exception of Selhurst Park, you could probably same the same about most PL grounds

As did Liverpool with Sebastián Coates.

That would only work with people born in the 26 counties between 1968 and 1982 :pac: getting that reference.

Brilliant quick move, well timed pass and run, no chance Sturridge is missing from there.

    Proper striker.

Much better than a tackle

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,546 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

Berbatov was incredibly lazy but often got into good positions, they're not really related. People call him lazy because of things like the fact he hasn't made a single tackle in nearly 6 hours of league football this season.

    Not all strikers are tacklers.

He just criticised no matter what in my opinion.

I'd say some are unhappy with the goal he just scored.

I want strikers to score not tackle.

    Sturridge channelling Benteke?

Sturridge, when fit, really is a great option to have. I accept the issues regarding his work rate, injuries and ability to fit in Klopp's system, but still a great striker

Lucas has made loads of interceptions and blocks.

He is certainly not one of the best Liverpool players of the last decade, but he is certainly one of my favourite players.

Yes but a striker in Liverpool's current first team needs to be a tackler. Firmino makes 3 or 4 a game and still has time to score. No one's unhappy he's scored, no one's that spiteful.

Klopp really has a great rapport with the players doesn't he? Must be great to play for.

Pity Derek didn't get his goal - a performance that deserved at least an assist.

    Presume you mean Firmino?

Genuinely cant't remember any great tackles that any striker has ever made but do remember their goals.

I would argue that Sturridge at his peak fitness and in right system has a higher strike rate than Firmino, a player I really like.

Is Klopp playing the wrong system?

Coulson and Turd are well known Sturridge haters, just stating the obvious with that.

Coulson never wanted to see him start a match for Liverpool again! Just stating a fact again.

I'm only speculating, but it does seem like Klopp's infectious attitude has had a huge positive impact on the morale and atmosphere amongst the players

Doesn't matter if they're great or memorable tackles, they're tackles that help out the team, that's just a stupid thing to say. And how often is Sturridge actual at peak fitness?

Trent A A nearly fell into klopps arms for his hug

Never said that, but if it turns out that Sturridge can't play to it , then it does not mean he's lazy or bad attitude. Just the wrong type of player for his system.

Sturridge would have a first team place in most premiership sides.

    Time will tell.

9 PL games and Firmino, coutinho, Lallana & Mane all getting a few goals isn't proof he is. Small sample size etc but I'm fairly sure there isn't much over 40/50 PL goals in that 4 over the course of 38 games.
