    What is the transaction limit and daily limit on visa debit purchases when using the card in the UK (sterling)

    Thanks for contacting us here on Boards.ie.

    Limits using your Visa debit card whilst in the UK are generally the same as when in Ireland. However if you make a higher point of sale transaction that is out of your normal spending pattern this might flag and our Fraud team will endeavour to get in touch.

    If you are planning on make a large purchase we’d suggest that you call to have a note added to your account.

    You can call BOI Direct on 0818365365, representatives are available Monday-Friday 8am-midnight, weekends and bank holidays 9am-6pm.

    Hi, thanks for that. What are the daily and transaction limits when using the debit card in Ireland? Also, are you suggesting that it is possible to have the limit temporarily increased in order to make a larger purchase if I contact and let them know in advance?

    Hi,

    Thank you for your post here on Boards.ie.

    The daily limit at ATM would depend on your account. Generally the limit is €700 per day however you can check your own daily limit at any of our Bank of Ireland ATMs or by sending a message via the service desk on B365 Online.

    When making larger purchases the retailer may need to call for authorisation on your card, you can call BOI 
    direct to advise to that you tend to make a large purchase and have a note added to your account.
