    hi all, can any one tell me if bows are legal in ireland as in do i need a licence to obtain a Samick Sage Takedown Recurve Bow. Questions like this were probably asked before so appoligies in advance.

    No licence needed. But, just for your information, bow hunting is illegal in Ireland, I'm just mentioning that as it's a bow type associated with hunting in other countries. If you aren't experienced in archery the best avenue is to take a beginners course as by the end of it you will have an idea if this type of bow suits the type of archery you intend doing. Limbs jump up in 5# increments too, which can be a bit of a jump. It makes up to a 62" bow, so make sure that suits you as 62" is quite short and I'd be a bit wary of it if you have a long draw length. On the plus side, it's a very pleasant looking wooden riser. Just make sure to pair it with a softer dacron string as fastflight materials could damage the bow.
