Hard disc at 100%

I recently had a failure on a 1tb drive on my laptop. Its a Hp Pavillion dv6

I had a 500gb in an acer laptop and switched the drives out and installed a fresh copy of windows 10.

All went well for a day or so.

Now I am get frequent 100% disc usage.

The event log has lots event id 153 errors. Hundreds of them.

I did everything on this site to try and fix and got nowhere

I am not sure what to do to fix this.

Could anyone point me in the right direction?

Have a look through for possible 153 error fix

At a glance thats indicating read fails. You can increase the readretry timeout but its a hint that disk may also be on its last legs.

Boot up a SMART utility and check the reallocation count. If its more than say 100(decimal not raw) its time to go out and buy an SSD.

This happened to me also. About a week later, drive went Kaput.

Don't forget the irreplaceable document backup strategy, SSDs can fail too.
