Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

We have a three year old chocolate lab and for the last six months she is casting her hairs all the time normally she only cast twice a year but it's continuous now and is awful the hair that is on the floor, is she lacking something or is it something else?

all dogs moult to some extent.

My dogs moult their body weight in hair every day

Something changed with your dog, if you think it is now moulting more than it did before. Have you changed its diet? Food will effect a dogs skin/coat to an incredible extent. Crappy quality food will often result in a crappy quality coat.
Allergies or bad quality food will effect the skin and therefore the coat.
Are you washing the dog a lot (reducing oil in the coat)?

If you are sure that this change has occurred in the last 6 months, I would look carefully at what has changed with the dog - food/environment/health.

Worst case scenarion is that (1) you sweep/vacuum every single day (2) limit the dog to the kitchen/sitting room (3) develop a care-less attitude, and only sweep up hair/fluff when you feel like it or if visitors are due - Ive gone with option (3) - live with the hair, its worth it for the love of my pets!!

Do you think the new home is warmer than the old one?

My dogs have been up and down with blowing their coat for a while now, the weather doesn't seem to be one thing or another, and so they don't know if they need a winter or a summer coat!

Yes you are exactly right, the house would be warmer and not drafty so you have a good point, not many ways around that problem.
