Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What's the weather like in your area 2

Have had a nice drop of rain fall here in mid Clare since saturday evening. I had accidentally left a measuring jug outside and when I checked it yesterday eveing there was well over 100ml in it. Not sure how accurate that would be as a measurement of rainfall but I was delighted to see it anyhow.
Got a bit of spraying done on Thursday and Friday evening and went out with the fertiliser spreader on a few places on Saturday so hopefully the rain will drive a bit of growth over the next week or so.

You’d need to know the area of the opening of the jug

Not happy about saying it but there are indications that round 2 of the heatwave could kick off next weekend.
    Sick **** of it

    Bring it on.....

Out of curiousity and if you can explain in simple terms :P what difference does the size of the opening make?

If you’ve got an opening the size of an acre and you got 100ml over the entire acre or 100ml in a mug. The 100ml in the mug was heavier rain

To get to the standard unit measure(in cm) the circumference of the jug at the top, multiply by itself and 0.8

Then divide 100 by the figure you got and that your rainfall per meter squared which is the standard unit.

"Met Éireann forecaster Vincent O’Shea said the drought conditions “would continue into the middle of next week”, which is as far as their forecasting models can accurately read."

Meanwhile, the Farmers Journal have a headline on their front page saying "Weekly weather: Significant rain forecast Thursday and Friday"

I'm not even going to guess at this stage.
Such as has been the white elephants.

The French weather service ARPEGE are giving a bit for down here anyway.

If it happens it happens if it doesn't it doesn't.

I'm going out hard with the fertilizer tomorrow anyways. But atm the longer term looks like there is going to be a break down but then no guarrantee either.

We got rain Sunday and there's been a definite response in grass here.
