Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

30 ft of ridge vent gone on my slatted house. 1 bay has made the ground and the other is lying upside down on the roof hanging by a bolt. Survived all the severe winds in the last 5 yrs and it goes tonight.

    Ouch!

A station at moneypoint albeit unofficial like mine recorded gusts over 150kmh
Theres only one official station in Clare

My own got frequent 90kmh gusts
Power went out here during the storm but remarkably the ESB had it back in the middle of it in an hour
They dont get the credit they're due!

A few 12yo forestry trees fell across a right of way we have.

A neighbor has about 3 30yo forestry trees dropped into his meadow. (His meadow is about 50meters wide so it’s about 1/3 of way across)

New cheapo poly tunnel got a few scratches.

    Bits of debris around.

For the length it went on for, that was our worst storm of the last few years.

    3 month heatwave prediction...

Looks like Met Eireann don't agree with The Met Office in the UK ...

Reckon all the hippy dippy climate protesting may have gone to their heads in the UK ...

As usual though that's a bad piece
She's not rubbishing what the UKMO said because what they said is right according to their model, they're only saying the probability is higher
Shes correcting the tabloid nonsense that the met office said that we ARE getting a 3 month scorch
UK weather in summer too btw is often different to ours
In fact East Ireland can be much different to the west in summer as we all know

Met Eireann are not going to put their head on the chopping block anymore.
Especially since their predictions of a hard cold winter just gone.
    Lesson learned.

Allot of overnight rain, still light rain and 9c, feeling very damp and cold again.
Heating been off two weeks now and had to turn back on.

You may move "over there" so! :D

Fine weather o're yonder doesn't always mean fine weather here.

Even in the short term forecasts you can see the low pressures coming in over this country and being stuck here by the brits load of high pressure.

It was the first time Met Eireann mentioned a Sudden Stratospheric Warming during any winter. Except they would have been better keeping stumb as these phenomena are no guarrantee of cold weather in this country as we all found out.
Better to stay with the 5 day forecast and not be trying to be cool with the kids..

Maize put back another day here at least, but I'll take every last drop of it, this will keep the 1st cut powering on and hopefully leave plenty surplus paddocks over may. The last 5 months weather in fairness have been an absolute dream.

Fine day here. Field near me mown this morning and picked up around 5 this evening. Dust flying off it. Going to be ploughed for maize in next few days.

Bit of rain early today, but great day afterwards. Was in Dublin, heavy rain in the midlands on the way up and back.
