Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just 4mm here in east Wicklow overnight
You'd think there was a lot more but I'm noticing that the ground is so rock hard that it pools a lot and takes a while to soak down or evaporate

That's over 2 different days though
If I took the same time period here it would have been about 19mm

Lovely day here so far but showers nearly and I think I heard a boom of thunder
Could be a bit of that later this afternoon in the east

Had torrential downpour here yday around 3pm for 20 mins....a weeks worth of rain fell in it!....land starting to get very sticky.

And very obvious that anywhere with good aftergrass it is lying down....If things don’t dry up a bit the stock will walk yon grass into the ground in no time.

    How is it elsewhere?

About average here for this time of year. Wouldn't go driving across the fields like, but you'd get it all eaten once you didn't close them up too small.
The biggest calf got left behind when moving the other day & he came thundering after, sinking to his knees :pac:

Got bloody luck with a smash and grab of 15ac, pissed rain tue night but sunny yday morning, so cut it the afternoon, got one small shower after mowing, but blew a gale all night and sunny this morning again, baled it the afternoon, and got another shower just as the last 2ac was being baled. 3rd cut in a week or so and I'll never wanna see another bale again ever, will be the best part of 600 going into this winter. If carlsberg did farming weather 2019 would be it though!

Pissed rain all night, have gotten caught with rain for both silage cuts now but thems the breaks. Should have planned the first one earlier. Have about 300 bales made off paddocks as well. All the Second cut may well not fit in the pit, the thought of having another 300 bales is sickening. Going to have to try and get some extra silage pits in, the year ill have it up there prob wont be a spare bale made then lol. I think its to improve from next week

Nice dry morning here . Land is wet though. We've had enough rain now.

Steady to heavy rain here now. It was drying for a few hours yesterday.

August has been pure scutter around here. Grass growing over the ditch but if it doesn’t stop raining it will be impossible to graze it without doing damage.

Yup time to turn off the tap

Rain just arrived here in Cavan.

Land is wet and if there isn’t a change soon it won’t recover for late grazing.

Have few bales to make which won’t be fun either.

40 acres of heavy silage and another 15 of paddocks with 2500 plus covers on them to bale, rain or showers every fecking day, building grass is going to get tighter as time goes on

Mucky day here today, blustery and wet and looking like it's going to be around for a good while. Only raining for the last hour though.
