Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Cool!!

What also stands out there is the drought in Chile with the country burnt up and no precipitation forming over it.

If you look at it on earth nullschool and go through all the layers it's pretty amazing.
It's pulling heat from south America (which will just increase in years to come from deforestation) and the desert dust from Africa.

Do you think we will get much rain from this system?

French model Arpege and the met office broadcasts are usually fairly accurate.

I was just checking on the marine ship tracker to see if there were many ships in the area. It looks like the blank area in the middle is the storm. Hopefully everyone at sea will be safe.

There's already been loss of life from Lorenzo.
A tugboat sank. One confirmed dead, three rescued, ten still missing.

Just thinking there they'll probably wait for confirmation from Met Eireann regarding colour warnings and any potential danger, re the storm track.

The trouble is Met eireann won't commit to anything till Wednesday. What time Wednesday, God knows.
And your predicament is your daughter may already be over there Wednesday.

The parents of all the kids going over may be forced themselves to make a decision.
