Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Absolutely cracking day here in Kerry.

Sun blazing down, light breeze and not a cloud in the sky.

You can see the grass growing today:)

Was over in Ballyb earlier... ‘twas packed....

Wow baled the hay last night and got 8 acres of 2nd cut this evening. Drop of rain over night bit dull this morning but opened up this evening. Nice enough stuff would have liked to give it another day but not around tomorrow evening

Was very damp all evening from maybe 4pm.
    Hammering rain now.

7 of the 14 days on the forecast with rain.

Pretty bleak for end of July.

Summer is slipping away. Mild day but scattered showers are stopping fellas cutting corn.

Grand day down here in Cork, bit muggy at times but a bit of a breeze picked up there now

Sun is avoiding Donegal for past week particularly Letterkenny is the place to come if you are allergic to the sun. . Looking at sunny temperatures down south. Must head down.

Drizzling away here. Should have taken out another 2 paddocks when at the pit stuff the start of the week. May chance mowing and baling 2moro maybe will see how rainfall pans out

Same here, have a few strong paddocks and the second cut to bale. I said I'd wait for the lads with hay down before I'd start. Looks like a hit of hit and run next week.

I think it must have rained on St Swithin's day.....or at least it has rained every day since. At least grass sown in June is doing well.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

Brutal rain here all morning again.
It’s cleared off again now but ground is in a jock

We've 30 bales more than we need for the average winter so just said fcuk it & took them in. No point walking the grass that's there into the ground.

Rain hammering off the slates here in west Cork. Talks of a bit of thunder and lightning during the night as well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,616 ✭✭✭✭_Brian

    Another horrific nights rain.
It’s just after clearing off now but serious water fell.

Ground is starting to fail under the cattle now.
A lot of grass getting destroyed.
It's been sh1te weather now for the last 8 weeks, bar a few days here and there. Another few weeks of this and lads could be looking at a disaster of a year for ground conditions

Content here anyway. Never seen cattle so happy inside in July, though the blasted calves have my heart broke coming out through the barrier. I've to keep the lower sliding door open for air circulation instead of the one beside their heads.

Outrageous rain here in NW Mayo with last few weeks, lots more coming over next few days.
If this keeps up ill not travel fields to make silage after Aug 15th deadline. No word of a drought now.
