Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Yea we had some heavy showers here in the afternoon and got very cold this evening.

Lad here was turning his straw and he had just finished and the rain started. This kind of weather would sicken u.

Nice day here overall with an odd shower but it was dried up within an hour because of the wind and sun.

We were drawing straw early this morning from NCD/Meath area. Ground was good enough to travel on when we arrived but within minutes of driving into the field we got a 5 minute downpour. I had to get the chain out for a tow (for my little lorry) even though I was driving on a tram line.

It's been an awful year for tillage farmers. I picked up a few stalks of spring barley that were left behind by the combine and the seeds were as small as rice.

These downpours are crazy. Got 2 yesterday evening. You're getting an hours rain in 5 minutes. That said I've been at 4 football games in the last 24 hours and stayed dry at them all

Wish this rain would f off for a couple of weeks.

I think its as bad in the UK, they've had an awful wet harvest too.
Looks its not much good for bread or brewing so there will be plenty grain for livestock instead. (I'm sure they pay top dollar for that)

And the meal price will drop due to the cheaper inputs

    Looks that way.
There'll be low pressures on and off but they look to be bringing southerly warm winds the whole way hopefully up till the end of Sept.
Should be real grass growing weather.

Music to my ears. Unlikely to get on some of our land with a tractor again this year but might with animals if that comes off. Have third cut to do and loads of slurry to go out.

Ground was fairly wet here too. But there's been some massive soakage today.
Was out with the tractor and sprayer today and it's just the wettest of ground now where you'd go down a bit. All trafficable though.
You'd nearly see the grass growing today with the air getting into the soil again.
It was going yellow in places with waterlogging.

Just an odd shower here, a nice breeze and still very warm. Growth is good still here and we seem to be missing the worst of what's coming in the next few days.

Rain just about keeping off here. Neighbours still combining and baling straw. Just 4 small fields left to do and all wheat harvested, just baling straw then. Good to see.

Rain has passed off now, there’s been more than I’d hoped.

Contractor due tomorrow, it will be sticky underfoot.

Small drizzle but holding off, stone rake thing here that'll have to stop if it gets any wetter, hopefully it won't

I was just down in a field cut earlier this week spreading a bit of fertiliser and it was in great order, only a bit of cutting in one spot. This would be a heavy field that would cut up a bit with the first cut in early June so very surprised at how well it stood up.

    Small drizzle here now...

Corn seems to be all cut around here, so I don’t mind saying i’m happy with the bit of rain on some seed I put in...

I have a feeling we won’t get much though...

I posted that the last if the corn was being cut a couple hours ago. About 15 minutes later it p1ssed out of the heavens. He's back at it again but say its going to be a pain in the hole to get the last few fields done. I probably jinxed him with my post ha.

Last bit of rain halted play here, have one field ready if it's not too bad may set tomorrow, the other field will have to dry out for the rake

A good breeze blowing the showers over quickly and not much heavy rain forecast here on the mullet peninsula.
Wild geese are early, it feels like winter already.

A good drop of rain during the night. Wasn't expecting it

Same, rained heavy enough for a few hours.
Didn’t see that on forecast yesterday evening.

Bright and sunny this morning in east cavan but grass very wet from the overnight rain.
