Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Had a bit of rain overnight. But generally for grass growth it's been a vintage here.

In other weather related news. I had a look at earth nullschool to see if the smoke particulates from the west coast of the U.S. was anywhere near us. It's over the east of the U.S. atm. We've our own particulates in the east of Ireland from fires in England and Belgium Holland.

However on earth nullschool one couldn't help but notice the large area of particulates over south America from fires in Brazil. Larger than California. The coverage on Irish news is of the fires in California. Nothing about Brazil. It's (the smoke) even visible on the visible satellite NASA worldview. What's also visible in Brazil is how the former green areas are being turned into brown savannah land. These are massive massive areas.
    Ah well. .. Not progress..

Day started with heavy mist and ended with it, warm ish during the day but no massive drying. Stone rake came again and finished up. Should get the last 3 acres set in the next day or two anyway.

If it was people affected there'd be boycotts by supermarkets in this part of the world.
Well there are people affected it's just they wear animal skins and hunt with bows and arrows. But sure it's not as sexy and they've no voice like South Africans had in Nelson Mandela or Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
But the destruction of wilderness and plants and animals continues just so there can be profit to be made on corned beef or soya milk or quinoa or whatever on the shelves of supermarkets and it's origin is on the back in very small print obscured with 25% off on the front.
It would annoy you and the same preachers in this country on Irish farmers probably go out and buy this produce. Hypocrites!!

(It's fine weather all the same here. Pity about the ploughing.) Rant over.

Only agricultural show I was ever at was in the RDS years ago. Our ag science teacher said to us all make sure ye get leaflets from all the stalls. We just nominated one of the lads to do this and we all went on the piss. The ag science teacher was sculling pints too.

Edit: was a nice sunny day here too.

A good drop of rain during the night. Wasn't expecting it

First rule for those living in Ireland:Always expect rain!

Monday was dull but brightened up abit before dark which didnt do me much good. Yesterday was fog all day with drizzle all evening. This morning still foggy.

Harvest equinox is this coming Tuesday.
The day our weather is forecast to change.

I don't really believe in these things but we might not have our fine weather back for quite some time. So if you have work to be done and it requires dry ground..get it done before Tuesday.

It is a great spell of weather that couldn't have come at a better time. I'll get at least another extra grazing rotation now with all the growth we've had. This means an extra 3 weeks out for the cattle before they are housed. It was similar last year I ended up with some cattle out into January of this year.
Cold spell promised for the end of the week, hopefully it stays dry

Lovely warm sunny day here. Planted few hundred bulbs for spring.

Went to mow lawn at 4pm and longer grass hadn’t dried at all during the day.

Gone very cool here today and a stiff breeze. Rain coming with the wind too but looks like it will hold off another while before becoming wet.

Noticably grey and overcast today. Solar panels not getting much of a workout tbh.

Two heavy showers within 5 mins of each other and what sounds like constant rain now. Hope it won't end up staying for the night or all the dry weather of the last week will be undone quick smart

Similar here. Real bite to it.
