Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Beautiful hard frosty morning here, fog mostly cleared and Christmas card white frost left behind.
These are beautiful mornings to be out doing something, second only to a bright sunny summer morning.

Rookie mistake at weekend I ran hand scraper across the yard where weanlings are crossing from paddock to slatted shed. It’s like an ice rink now 😂

Had torrential rain for sustained periods in the NW today.Would say it will be a bad year for fluke in sheep....was looking at sheep on dry limestone ground today and you could hear the water ploshing as they ran along :(

Wet land is submerged in water around here!

Most rivers are fairly high after yesterday here in the midlands

Frost on the grass this morning, calm before the storm, looks like S. coast will be rough tonight.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

Had to pull the plug on the maidens out on grass. Absolutely everything in now. Not a spare inch of shedspace here the minute. I may rethink the spring and calf sheds etc ha.

Ha, I am gonna admit defeat on my idea that I didn't need anymore cubicles for milkers, I've enough straw bedding but too much juggling and drying off some milkers them few weeks early in Nov etc, so time to just lob up another shed with 30 cubicles which will free up another shed for calves etc

Total wash out all morning here in Cavan.

It’s to clear later but steady rain now and hasn’t let up since some time during the night.

Weanlings that have access to shed and paddock are eating silage at the barrier and only ventured out for meal in the yard. Straight back to the barrier out of the rain.

Market for fodder definitely picking up again, despite what was one of the most exceptional summers around here for growth (2nd and 3rd cuts everywhere), we were all too comfortable in the winter of 17/18 so people sourcing fodder that bit early this time given how wet a back end its been.
