Speaking of anti touting measures ,just had a quick look there and Viagogo the rogues are selling tickets for Dublin .
They must obviously believe the ID thing wont be enforced .

Or they don't give a **** once they sell the tickets.

And it's not €10 postage per ticket, i got 4 and postage was €10.50

i didn't say it was €10 postage per ticket.

Was in the queue for 20 minutes right through to entering the credit card details when I got the "Bad Gateway" error after clicking buy, No idea how p***ed off I was.

But I had a second browser windows and suddenly I was back in the race, and managed to get two tickets (okay, lets not go there with the price). But even after paying €209 for two tickets I still felt much better that when I was looking at that "Bad GateWay" error.

Kudos to both OPs who mentioned the pre-sale and who posted the links\info.

Didn't someone say earlier that they got the Gateway error but they got an email and the transaction was processed anyway. You might want to double check that you havent bought a set of tickets you dont want!

You said it would be €18 per ticket cheaper buying off Ticketmaster

    for one ticket, yeah.
change "per ticket" to "for a ticket" if it makes the obscene fees that Radiohead are charging easier to swallow.

I see they have updated the WASTE site to say tix on sale Nov 4 so they are done for today-any idea how many tickets were for sale this morning?

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,539 ✭✭✭ghostdancer

    Not per ticket though.
it is if the transaction is for 1 ticket ;)

I was worried about that and checked my e-mail right up until I had entered my details for the second time but the first pair of tickets never processed. Would be just my luck to end up with two sets of tickets at high service charges and no chance of reselling.

I also got a bad gateway error and was thrown back to purchase page. Put in all my details again and got through second time. Only got one confirmation email.

Someone's posted a standing ticket for sale on Viagogo for €859.50 :pac:

(I have checked the confirmation email 3 times now to be certain I have it :) )

Yes, but also, absolute idiots who'd pay it?

How can they sell tickets in any case? Is it not a ball ache, needing the card holder there?

Thom better have at least 15 costume changes and some serious pyrotechnics to justify my €107 face value standing ticket :D

Well if I was making that much profit off the ticket I'd also pick the person up and escort them to the venue myself

If someone wants to pay that money for a ticket when the general sale hasn't even started then they deserve to be parted with their money and fair play to the person that took it! :pac:

I haven't been at a gig in the venue since it was the The Point, which I hated to be honest.

How many people would the standing area now likely hold?

I find it quite amusing how passionate people get about the choices of others.

    According to Wikipedia...
The arena has a capacity of over 13,000 (with standing) or 9,500 (all-seated). Retractable seating may be withdrawn to create space for 8,000 standing in front of the stage, with the remainder seated. The furthest seat is 60 metres from the stage, 20 metres closer than in The Point. This was achieved by arranging the seats around the stage in a gigantic "fan" formation which the architects likened to the Colosseum of Rome. There are no corporate boxes inside the venue. The backstage area has a "substantial" loading bay for trucks. Alcohol is available in a high-security area of the venue in an effort to curb under-age drinking. Prior to re-development, the seating capacity was 6,300 or 8,500 standing.

If they bring a big stage set up, it may be less than this - I've been to two shows with elaborate stages in the 3 Arena (U2's Inncocence/Experience which had a walkway and screens bisecting the crowd, and Jay-Z and Kanye West's Watch the Throne tour, which had two stages facing each other) which had fewer in the standing area.

presale just hit 3+ for me

Now to play the crashed app game while trying to get a code.

  • Registered Users Posts: 674 ✭✭✭carnie

It's going to be a long wait to get that bloody code.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,273 ✭✭✭UsedToWait

Delighted to get back of block A, nearest the centre, so fairly good seats..

Presale was nerve shredding - thought I was kicked out at one stage but got back in thankfully..

Will be interested to see the actual price of tickets on ticket b'stard - swallowed hard on seeing the booking fee and postage charges on presale, but as someone mentioned, I owe them a few quid for albums I've 'borrowed' over the years..

Offering Three presale code (in case it ever comes through).
First one to reply gets it.

Note: I have requested the code several times, but it didn't work out so far, so maybe it never arrives. Not promising anything. However, since I'm not planning to go myself, I'm happy to give it to someone else. No clue yet on the three radiohead page when this is supposed to start (weird since - by tradition - it should be on since 9am this morning, however the notification for this presale only hit my phone a few minutes ago).
