Hi! I have Level 6 Childcare and a Diploma in Montessori Teaching. I'm looking at doing the Level 8 Honours Degree Montessori with St Nicholas. Would this qualify me to be a resource teacher in a primary school? I'd love primary teaching but can't afford to do degree full time for a good while can't stop working and haven't gotten Honours Irish. Any advice greatly appreciated!

To be a primary teacher, you must be teaching council registered in primary. You must hold a primary Ed degree or qualification and pass any govt gaeilge test. In your case, I'd say you won't be able to unless its unqualified subbing.
It doesn't matter if its resource or mainstream, same rules seem to apply

There was a time when primary resource did have people without a primary qualification But not any more, in the new SEN model, resource teaching will be done away with and it will all be SEN teaching . As a school can lose teachers , and as you can't be certain of being in SEN from year to year, , you would have to be fully qualified to get any permanent job .
