    Hi,
We bought a house 6 months ago. We are not overly happy with our heating system so we are going to upgrade our ~20 year old boiler to a new condenser one. The boiler upgrade will be around 1,600 which I am happy enough with.

There is the option to upgrade our heating controls also and avail of the the SEAI grant for 700. We have underfloor heating with 12 different zones in a 2000 square foot 2 storey house. We have been quoted an additional 2,000 for this (both parts and labour) which will include wired low voltage digital stats. We would like to get this system in but just wondering if this price seems reasonable or not as I was expecting it to be a lot less than that? Has anybody had this done before and do you consider it worthwhile?

A good decision to upgrade. It sounds like your system is already zoned.
All you really need is two wall thermostats, a cylinder thermostat and a 3-channel CH programmer.
What controls have you got already?
Are you being quoted for a new hot water cylinder in that price?
I think you might have picked up the "low voltage" bit wrong. Is it wireless you mean?

Hi - we have changed our old boiler to a new condensing one about 2 years ago. We are getting some work done in the house and the builder is suggesting that we need put the heating upgrade in.

How much is reasonable to install (parts and labour) for a heating system divided into 2 zones (1 for space heating and 1 for hot water) and a 7 day programmer with 1 room and a new tank/cylinder with thermostats and a motorised control valve ?
