Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Course change

I am a 3rd year student general nurse. I have recently made the very difficult decision to not complete my final year in nursing as I am very unhappy in the course and can't see myself being in the career for the rest of my life.

I have arranged to see a guidance counsellor next week but was wondering if anyone could shed some light on what my options are for going forward? What courses can I change into? Will I lose my grant? Do I need to finish year 3 and get my level 7 before changing course?

What would you like to do now that you are set on not finishing your degree in nursing. It will be up to the head of school of nursing etc to decide whether you can get a level 7 or not
You almost certainly will have to finish the year to get awarded anything like a degree but you have to contact your school. Contact Cathal, Education Officer in SU, if unsure on exactly who to contact as well.
