I have ordered a few of these Smart 20 battery mods & I've had some problems with some of them,
1 the battery arrives DOA, will not turn on & will not charge.
2 the battery works for some days or weeks & suddenly will not turn on & will not charge.
3 the battery case heats up very quick & even starts to melt the plastic LCD display.

    solution to issues 1 & 2
Remove the 2 screws at the USB connector end of the Smart 20, inside there are 2 small PCB's, these PCB's are joined at 1 edge by 4 solder joints encased in black plastic standoffs, you need to short these 4 solder joints (pins) together by carefully inserting a small metal screwdriver & touch it across all 4 pins & if you are successful the LCD display will turn on & the Smart 20 is working again.
    solution to issue 3
The battery positive+ wiring is making contact with the metal casing of the smart 20, at each end of the internal battery there are round protective shields which prevent the battery wiring coming in contact with the case, remove both ends of the smart 20 case & check if these protective shields are there & in the proper position, if not then move them back into the correct position, if any are missing you can use a small piece of electrical insulating tape to cover the ends of the internal battery.
