Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hazard against Ashburnham Primary School? He would have been very disappointed if he wasn't !

    boro press conf

Conte: 'All my players are available this weekend.

'Costa had a slight injury against Everton but now his physical condition is good.

it is fantastic that he has won the Manager of the Month award and credits all his staff and team.

'I am pleased for Eden because he is playing fantastic football and working very well in training. He is a great player.

it is important that Hazard is showing his talent but this is not the time to compare him with others

'It was a pity to stop our run for the internationals but this is normal & now we must find a way to restart in the right way

he is pleased to have Steve Holland as an assistant and at the moment he is focused on Chelsea

he is happy with how well the team are adapting to his work and the current system is a good fit for the squad.

'John Terry is in good shape and he can fit into this system

Kurt Zouma is showing good form in training but he still needs time to be his best after a bad injury

'Oscar's future is Chelsea and he is an important player in the squad. He is a great player and for me, he is staying.'

In regard to dealing with injuries, Conte says the squad is complete and is a good one if replacements are needed during the season.

'Fabregas is in a good shape and is available for Sunday

No point changing the team anyway, if the XI that played the last 5 wins on the bounce are fit, they play, its that simple.

Bench is a different story and I'm not a fan of having 2 CBs on it.

    Begovic
    JT
    Cesc Chalobah
    Willian Oscar
    Batshauyi

Thats what I'd go with anyway.

Ivan might even take JT's spot considering Ivan can play RWB too :O

I'd say we have enough coverage in Azp, Pedro and Willian for RWB.

While JT is a better CB than Ivan.

So hopefully, no Ivan or Mikel, I'd prefer Aina at this stage in the side.

Utd arsenal drawing means another win tomorrow puts us a few points further away from both which is good for the top 4 fight.

I cant thank Liverpool and especially Arsenal enough for beating us a few weeks back as its driven us on to a change that we needed in the starting XI.

Hope the international break hasn't broke or rhythm

It should be an easy game but theres no such thing in the league, any win will do us good going into the Spurs and City double header.

Ake has scored on his first start for Bournemouth

Win tomorrow puts us back top

City scrapped a win, and 3 other rivals drew and Spurs are losing.

Stays this way and we win and it couldnt really have been any better this weekend.

Still though, a tricky game tomorrow but the incentive is there for us.

Rose booked for Spurs so hes missing the game against us.

No repeat so from Rose who pushed Hiddink over last year, ne some craic to see him try it on conte. :pac:

Was he playing CB for them?
Very versatile player if so, can remember him slotting in at LB, CDM etc too.

Starting to get on top now after a poor opening 20 mins.

Great save by Valdes to deny Pedro.

it's a cracking game. 'Boro really giving it a go.

    Costa in serious form.

Love Costa when he's got his head screwed on.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,137 ✭✭✭TimRiggins

Started sluggish but playing better now. Moses not getting tracked on the right hand side at all. Poachers goal from Diego. Get in.

Apparently this is the 5th game in a row that Conte has picked this side, which is the first time in Chelsea's Premier league history. SOURCE

Great poaching goal Diego! Boro are a sturdy side.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

Just about deserved that lead, Moses looks a threat every time he gets the ball.

Have to say I'm very surprised at that, would've thought the Jose and Carlo years would've seen the same team named more than 4 times in a row

Getting sloppy now. We're going to have to get the intensity up to hang onto the points.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,683 ✭✭✭LightningBlue

Pedro should have had a hat trick by now.

Would have been an amazing team goal. Great play by Luiz and Costa in the build up.

Nice break. Pity about Moses finish.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,398 ✭✭✭McDave

There's a goal in this for Boro if we're not careful. Which we are not at the moment.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,398 ✭✭✭McDave

Alonso really gives us width. A good target, keeps it in play and gets decent crosses in.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,398 ✭✭✭McDave

Costa a bit lead footed at the mo. Probably another goal in him! :pac:

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,683 ✭✭✭LightningBlue

Joke how long its taken Moss to book another Boro player.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,398 ✭✭✭McDave

Christ. Thank fock. Another post. Thought I was missing a match thread for a mo!

Yup. On Pedro. Unlucky not to have a brace.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,683 ✭✭✭LightningBlue

Boro are going to nick one. We've been very sloppy in possession.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,398 ✭✭✭McDave

There's a goal in this for Boro. We're really coasting and need to compete now for the last 10 mins.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,683 ✭✭✭LightningBlue

    Chalobah on for Pedro.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,683 ✭✭✭LightningBlue

How the **** has Ramires not been booked, he should be off at this stage.
Constantly mouthing all game at the ref too.

Ref doesn't seem to mind chatting away with the mouthers!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,398 ✭✭✭McDave

On Ramires. Salami tactics. Little fouls, smiley yapping. Avoiding censure a bit too easily.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,398 ✭✭✭McDave

You can see how happy players are to seek out Alonso. He makes himself available. A really nifty addition to the team.

He's fitted in brilliantly. The only complaint could be against his shooting today.
It's amazing the difference between him and the bombscare that was Baba Rahman.

Top of the league and even better that a youngster was brought on rather than the under performing stars

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

That was a hard fought but deserved win for us. Credit to Boro they did well, Traore is a handful.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,683 ✭✭✭LightningBlue

Job done. Another win, another clean sheet.
Foundation of another great team starting to fall in to place built around getting the best out of every single player.

Really should have scored another 2 but Middlesbrough were very good and probably deserved a goal.

Should have scored more. But then again, we did against MU and Everton when most decent attempts actually went our way.

Thankfully today wasn't a scoreless draw!

Contes showing serious faith in Chalobah that he brings him on first in a very tough and still open game away from home.

Chalobah must be really making some great impression in training and Id say the loan in Italy really helped him understand the tactical side od the game better.

No way Jose makes that kind of sub.

We really deserved the win but we made hard work of it, I did say though that Boro are blunt but dont get trounced so a win is huge after the international break, we also played some excellent football at times that meant Boro didnt touch the ball in about 2 or 3 mins at a time.

Also love Contes passion at the end, the embrace with Luiz, who was a rock and IMO our MOTM today but again, it could have been 4 or 5 players.

Roll on the January transfer window. If only to see who wants to come on board the Conte Revolution. Solid, sexy football.
