I am a Protestant, drive a 12 year old car and look fairly dishevelled. My missus is a Lutheran and goes horse riding all the time. She looks mad and could be mistaken for a Welsh miner.

She inherited loads of stuff too. Most likely extremely valuable Art Deco furniture that is now covered in junk. A Persian rug that's been rolled up on the floor for years. She did mention, whilst batting a carpet moth away, that the rug was probably worth thousands.

Would we be seen as posh? Or just dirty Protestants?

A phrase that "old money" use to denigrate new money - "he buys his own furniture"

People wearing "Horse-riding" clothes, like those quilted jackets/the leather riding boots/jodphurs. As opposed to people owning horses. Posh.

Anto owns a horse, but never felt the need for jodhpurs..or a stable. Or even a saddle.

Also, Gardens containing plants other than Leylandii or grass. And greenhouses that aren't poly-tunnels.

Streets with no house numbers but house names instead. They are the bane of my job.

    ugh, the conceit.

i hope their stuff doesnt get delivered.

and i hope it was urgent and health related stuff and that they die as a result of the delay, their last thought being along the lines of 'why did i have to be such a pretentious snooty wannabe prick i should have just put number 40 instead of prudenceville'.

and a similar fate for the complete morons with no numbers.

You'll know a place is posh when you hear the lonely clink of yet another bottle of wine being pulled out of Mom's BMW, while Dad is over in Marseille getting sucked off by a bellhop from Belarus.

Papa wouldn't be found dead in Marseille.

    Nice, or Bordeaux, ...please.

Faux concern for the environment brigade. You'll see them in Dublin also.
