Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I don't agree with Beatties one either. All I'm saying is that the Dundalk team are really terrible losers and can't cope when it doesn't go their way. Poor Stevie couldn't handle not refereeing the game.

In fairness that's bollox. You were caught out on it. Beattie grabbed Finn by the eye first and Shields retaliated. How is that being a terrible loser? It's standing up for your teammates.

The pettiness of the Cork witch-hunt on Shields has now backfired.

Load of handbags really, silly of one of our supporters to tweet Shields with it to be honest and got rightfully caught out. Load of nonsense like that goes on in melee's like that.

Huge crowds to welcome back Cork City with the FAI Cup yet no coverage of their homecoming from RTE, Irish Times, Indo etc why do the media blank such a good news League of Ireland story.

When have the mentioned media outlets ever given decent coverage? To be fair we're lucky with the local media in Cork who give quite a bit of attention to City and have done so for years. I think thats more important in attracting people to the Cross than the likes of RTE or the Indo covering LOI.

Christ...didn't realise there was that turnout. As you say, little to no coverage.

We didn't even get a reception from the council last season when we won the double!

An open top bus through town and a 5 min stop at the square

To be fair, it was shown on the 9 o'clock news on RTÉ on Monday night. I never remember a League of Ireland homecoming being shown on national media. I'd imagine the Examiner had a bit about it as well.

The council in Dundalk seem to treat football shockingly given how massive it is for the town. At last year's final there were what, about 12,000 Dundalk fans at Lansdowne? That's about a third of the population of the entire town! You'd think politicians would milk that kinda publicity for all they could get. Given the high percentage of Dundalk FC fans, you'd think it'd be in their own interests to give the club more political support.

It's surprising that in a city with much fewer local football fans per capita and with much better supported GAA teams, that City have such a strong support among local politicians and TDs.
