    Hi guys

I'm looking to get rid of my monthly Sky TV subscription but once I do I will loose the recording capabilities of the sky box. I want to upgrade to a new 55inch Samsung with PVR capabilities and an external harddrive as I'd like to be able to record and watch a different channel at the same time.

Would you recommend a twin tuner TV for this purpose or should I invest in a separate box (like the sky box) that comes with Twin Tuner and hard drive built in?

Either way I'd like to get a new Samsung 55 inch TV from you guys. Budget is 1K delivered to ROI.

    Cheers

    Gibbers,

Thanks a million for the post and we are asked this question really frequently - in my experience direct HDD recording via your TV is something that Customers rarely use as it can be cumbersome - most especially if you have come from the Sky platform, which to be fair is state of the art.

My advice is now ALWAYS - purchase a Humax Freesat HD box - these are really the only game in town when it comes to replacing your Sky box - OK they won't have the ROI channels or Sky paid channels, but they are excellent quality, offer huge storage and best of all they have the only Electronic Programme Guide good enough to match the Sky EPG - they are a doddle to use!

If you wanted an excellent Samsung 55" with a Humax HDD then I'd recommend the Samsung UE55KU6020 with the Humax HDR1100S which is a Freesat HD with a 1TB hard drive - check them out here:

This combo is currently £898 / €1148 for the two - I don't have any real movement on the sterling price but I can reduce the € price to €1019 including delivery ( and of curse our TV includes a 6year warranty)  if that would help :) ( we are cheaper on this combo than lots of other retailers in Ireland are on JUST the Samsung TV on its own )

    Keep us posted,

    Hi guys
I've noticed that the Samsung UE55KU6020 has dropped in price by 80 pounds. Is it still available along with the HUMAX box? Sky has been cancelled so I need to order these ASAP.
    Thanks

...and if you would like it with the Humax HDR1100s 1TB I can do the combo at £818 with delivery at £13.98 - total £831.98 / €1019 including delivery

Stock is becoming tight on the Samsung UE55KU6020 so if you would like to grab one just drop me a line with your contact details and we will get a delivery arranged for you.
