Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Tomorrow, the superthread.

Yep, there's another thread going if people want to talk about, you know, the actual election!

Seriously, the other one looks to be for results and exit polls, this one more general but I'd day whichever is busiest will have plenty of information coming in.

I don't know which TV channel to watch, no mind which thread. RTE are doing CBS simulcast.

I don't have satellite but I can get sky news on youtube.

Find BBC best this side of the pond. RTE is a bit of a blast from the past for me, they always use CBS.

I think Sky News is way way better than BBC. Also, I can never understand why BBC don't broadcast on you youtube like sky news does. Maybe there is some license issue.

I really wish I had fox news at my disposal today. It would be so funny.

    Anyway, enjoy the night K-9.

Have to say Fox's new "Election center" /set is pretty cool. Too bad they have to ruin it with so many nitwit pundits ;)

I've watched every Trump Rally, and the context of that line is in response to pundits saying how his campaign is so incredible, historic, etc.......and he said to the people he loves......that not winning means they cannot do all the things they want to do, and THAT would be a waste of time and money, as well as a missed opportunity.

Funny that VOX is so bitter already, I mean, the election isn't over yet, is it ;)

    Why?

For the rhetoric of course :D

If you are Clinton you have to be a little nervous now. She hasn't swung any Red states and the swing states which were favouring Clinton are swinging early to Trupm

    Mexican Peso is dropping rapidly

    Its BRexit all over again
    Fascinating if nothing else

    Why?

Because they were beautiful, inspiring, and brilliant. It's been a fantastic year and I will really miss them!

I'm watching MSNBC. It's fun watching James Carville going certifiably mad.

Took over an hour and a half to vote tonight. Never took more than 15 minutes to vote before. Amazing to see the Trump enthusiasm of the people in the voting line in big blue Pennsylvania. This really is an exciting election.

Trump winning Ohio not altogether unexpected but he still needs Florida and some other miracle to go his way:

    http://www.270towin.com/maps/ymYVd

Michigan the analysts are calling "close" but this has consistently polled blue, not convinced he's got it.

Some murmuring on NBC will be called for Trump. Recount might not be triggered either as he's currently ahead by more than 0.5%

    Colorado just called for Clinton

Don't have a clue what that means but I'd say Clinton's camp is now plotting paths to the White House, twas Trump previously.

Ah well, let's see what Brexit and Trump types can deliver. People got bored of centrist pleasing politicians, let's see if the alternative can do any better.

I'm trying to think of a time when a country lurching from centrist to extremist politics (in either direction) worked out well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 43,311 ✭✭✭✭K-9

    Yep, that's my fear.

    We know better, Don't we?

My fear is social media lets us repeat the mistakes of history just quicker, and us warning about the dangers of nationalism as shown again and again throughout history, are just experts and know it alls.

We've got to the stage that being open to a change of opinion and fact throughout your life is a weakness, sticking to your belief no matter what, because reddit and twitter safe spaces which you carefully select to agree with you, is a truism!

Feck it. Us geeks thought we'd solved it all.

    92% of results in PA

48.2% of the vote each, separated by 2400 votes.

Voter suppression could decide this election.
