For anyone who's interested Katie is the floater fight for tonights card so you can be on anytime after 8pm. Below is the link to the full running order

    http://www.matchroomboxing.com/fight-nights/joshua-v-molina/

Excuse my ignorance but what exactly is a float fight? :o

That Allen fella they threw in with Ortiz has one hell of a chin. Took some serious punishment there.

Had Frankie at 4/1 to win.

    Always felt Burton was overrated.

I thought the card went from the bottom up? does floating mean that they decide on the night when the fight is on?

Great fight! Some way to win it for Buglioni, Ortiz appears to be vastly overrated my guess is it's because he's not on PED's anymore, his feet are extremely slow i'v changed my view of him, i'd fancy any top 5 HW to beat him although he'd be a dangerous fight for anyone.

I'v Conception to beat Yafai on points at 8/1 those odds are unreal i felt despite Conception missing weight

No idea it's the float fight so could be anytime from 8pm onward up to the Joshua fight.

Fair play, i'd say you were jumping when he landed that shot to the temple. Still blocking shots with his head though.

British title fights seem to be the best fights on these PPV's.

    Yes I was! :D

Ah there's no doubt he'd be punished if he was up against a higher quality opponent the way he was operating.

The British title fights are better match ups.

I also think that Molina could possibly cause an upset tonight.

Big fan of AJ, but I rewatched Molina and Wilder and if Molina catches AJ with similar type shots that rocked Wilder, AJ, who had a suspect chin and very limited head movement could be in trouble.

Reckon Taylor will be on soon enough. Smith to finish this in the next 2 rounds IMO

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

Went for the following small double:

Katie Taylor to win in rounds 1-3 @ 7/4
Anthony Joshua to win in rounds 4-6 @ 9/4

    Just shy of 8/1.

Molina won't cause any problems imo he really isn't very good, wasn't even a full time pro until recently. The Wilder fight he was KD like 4 or 5 times and then KO'd, he landed a good shot on Wilder and wobbled him but wasn't like he won any rounds.

Agree. Anything is possible in HW Boxing and I have always been sceptical of Joshua's whiskers. I think one would be foolish not to put a few quid on Molina in early rounds considering how steep the odds are.

    Yes. Smith is overrated.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,131 ✭✭✭Burial.

Smith is such a mediocre fighter. Cannot believe people said he'd give DeGale a good fight.

Looking forward to Povektin v Stiverne next weekend.

The only fights i am interested tonight are Katie's and Whyte V Chisora. The main event will be a 2 round demolition. Molina has a punchers chance, but i feel Joshua's chin is as solid as Wilder's, if not more so.

Overrated in what way? He's European champion and hasn't really been tested as of yet.
Would you have him beating Groves, Jack or Chudinov?

I don't see him beating Jack or De Gale. He is alright, but he is not as good as sky make out.

    Who's winning this one?

Smith seems like the kind of fighter who if he doesn't get them out of there in 2-3 rounds he starts to run out of ideas and get frustrated, he's ended up laboring pretty badly against some really soft opposition. I think he's stagnated a bit been waiting to long for the world title fight.

I'm only half watching it, but it should have been stopped the round before. To protect him from exactly what just happened.

Carl Froch needs to stop talking.

Mediocre? The way Degale takes rounds off, anyone with power is always in with a shout.

True and DeGale himself isn't all that but he still gives Smith a lesson in my opinion. Hell I think Groves would give him a lesson.

These things take time to develop. In 2 years time I'd criticise him like this, but not now.

Is this lad going to take the mask off?

In fairness to Froch he has mentioned Wembley tonight....

Not sure about this. The likes of Macklin and Paulie have been at least taking some sense right from the getgo, and Paulie still is fighting and Macklin not too long retired. I know a lot of people rate Paulie as the best pundit in the sport. I just think Froch is nailed on to be a clown of a pundit.

Concepcion deserved to win for that backflip alone. Robbery.

Fair play to Yafai, that was dominant. There are some tasty fights in that division for him that I'm sure Hearn won't let him take.:pac:

Anyone know if any of the pubs in Galway are showing the fight?
