Yes your right it's not their sorry, someone posted it was now available a while back. You will have to log back in to the UK account you set up to download the app originally(in iTunes).

For android users it's easy just Google alexa apk and lots of website pop up where you can download the latest update.

Android users can get it through the Play store now. No need for side loading. You need to go to the web version of the play store and push the app as it doesn't show up in the actual play store app.
It will auto-update etc. like any other app once you have pushed it.

Are you opening it on your phone? The link will automatically redirect to the play store app if you do and then you get that message. Do it from a computer and it should let you.
I don't have anything changed re country etc. on my account and it's working here.

Alexa is pre-installed on my new Irish phone (HTC U11), She answers all my questions even the weather for my area.But there is very little I can change in the settings,keeps telling me I need the app.The time is an hour off and I hope to get the new amazon show when released to try out video calls. Would love if you someone could post the latest link for the app and maybe basic instructions.

searched alexa on the playstore app on my phone to see was there an update.
no update so click open.

alexa app opens with an initial setup for conversations.

Stupid question maybe - are you trying to install on a tablet or a phone. I think it only works on a phone as you need to verify with a phone number.

I installed the latest version of the app, it asked me to set up calling/contacts etc and away I went.

You can't call landlines but you can call mobiles with the alexa app installed, so not really calling the phone just the app over Internet. Works well though.

Its not enabled for the Tap
I am going to ask Amazon in chat now as to why they have excluded the Tap and see if there are plans to enable it

To me the Tap is the best of all the Alexa devices. its really versatile and gets a lot of use in our house. Its great to not be tethered by wires

I'd guess it'll be ready when they starting selling the devices in Ireland.
If the Fire TV / Fire Stick is anything to go by, I'd guess never...
