Sorry, how does this affect halting immigration and job creation?

Its not an either or. It is possible to be both.

So society is just an economy to you? Once we are better off the means doesn't matter?

I seem to recall certain German's having the same thinking a few years ago. I can't quite remember what came of that, probably nothing I suspect

Which jobs is he creating anyway. Good jobs, the best jobs?

    Yuge jobs, believe me, bigly.

If anything it looks like they did it due to their hate of Trump and took it out on an easy white target.

So you accept that he mocked the reporter. And then you must accept that he lied about it, and even today is still lying about it.

You think Streep shouldn't speak her opinion because some scumbags acted like animals? There is no evidence that what Trump did made the people torture the teenager, yet somehow you seem to think Hillary has something to do with it? Good grief

Remember people. Trump can mock disabled people all he likes because some thugs were worse to disabled people.

Your logic makes no sense. Really no sense. Two wrongs don't make a right but you don't get to ignore a wrong because there was a worse one. I hope the attackers end up in jail for a long time. They are not related though and would not be unless you have evidence that Streep would like to see them not punished. Otherwise you are just trying to drag the conversation from yet another Trump flaw.

She can still give out that Trump mocked someone's disability. Those attackers are not the president elect. They are not politicians. They are thugs who should be punished. Or when can we bring up that particular flaw of Trump's again (in fairness we could ditch it for a bit he has many flaws for us to focus on).

You forgot blatantly lying about insulting someone's disability from your list of things Trump should not have done.

It is 100% totally irrelevant to issues of what he was elected on.

He got elected to build a wall, stop ISIS and create jobs. That's it. That's what he should be judged on. And all 3 are societal issues too.

Being a nice guy or not is irrelevant. Being Son-in-law material is not part of the job description.

I love that in his response to Streep he's basically proven her spot on.
Basically very vindictive, calling her an over-rated actress (3 Oscars by the way).

Stunning lack of basic awareness that you don't think the conduct of the leader of a country is a "societal issue".

If your country's leader is a horrible bastard like Putin or Duterte, then that's a signal to all horrible bastards that what they're doing is OK and to yougn people growing up that it's not only OK, but perhaps essential to be a horrible bastard to get where you want to get.

If you don't think Trump being a nasty reprehensible cvnt isn't relevant and isn't a societal issue, then you're completely away with the birds.

Have to laugh at all the online terms like "generation snowflake" to describe some young people as whingy, spoilt and ultra sensitive when this orange clown is the twitter emporer of all 3 traits

Do you honestly think it is right for powerful people to use their position to publicly mock those that question them? And then when it is brought up to them use the media to lie about it. Do you think it right if you brought up some potential injustice that Kenny should be allowed to publicly ridicule you and your family? How about if you ever turn up a water protest or whatever, that they bring out stories on you to show you suck at football, or like porn? So instead of dealing with the issue you have raised they simply ignore it to make fun of you.

Because before you accept it for others you need to question would you be comfortable to be in their position.

US President-elect Donald Trump has hit back over Meryl Streep's criticism of him as she received a lifetime achievement award at the Golden Globes.

He tweeted: "Meryl Streep, one of the most overrated actresses in Hollywood, doesn't know me but attacked last night at the Golden Globes.

"She is a Hillary flunky who lost big," Mr Trump added of the three-time Oscar-winning actress.

    WELL SAID DONALD.

He's not building a fecking wall, he's going to make ISIS worse if anything, and I fail to see how he's going to create any jobs.

It's not about being nice, it's about presenting yourself with the dignity appropriate to the office, and setting an example. The leader of one of the world's most powerful nations behaving like a spoilt child on twitter is embarassing and as another poster pointed out, absolutely ****ing hilarious given his supporter's love of complaining about 'snowflakes'.

There are other criteria for diagnosis of Narcissistic Personality Disorder but these are the essential features. Five of the following must be present:

    1. Has a grandiose sense of self-importance (e.g., exaggerates achievements and talents, expects to be recognized as superior without commensurate achievements).
    2. Is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love.
    3. Believes that he or she is “special” and unique and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status people (or institutions).
    4. Requires excessive admiration.
    5. Has a sense of entitlement, i.e., unreasonable expectations of especially favorable treatment or automatic compliance with his or her expectations.
    6. Is interpersonally exploitative, i.e., takes advantage of others to achieve his or her own ends.
    7. Lacks empathy: is unwilling to recognize or identify with the feelings and needs of others.

the head of the CIA stated publicly a few day's back that they would deliberately withold sensitive information from him due to the fact that he didn't know when to keep his mouth shut, he went on to say the 16 security agencies that exist in the US seldom came to the same conclusion over security and intelligence but with trump all 16 had agreed that he was not to be trusted, these are the same people he will need to rely on most while in office, this is his first shot at being president but the security services have been around for a long time and if they decide he has to go then he most definately will go, the one certain thing is that they'll be there long after he's gone, it'll be interesting to see how long it takes before someone tries to kill him, the security services may well be tempted to turn a blind eye to a potential assasination as it would suit them very well not to have a hand in his removal (plausable deniability) the guy is egotistical and psychopathic (he fit's almost all the traits) really interesting to see what happens next

I dunno, I think while Trump will likely be a big target for any lunatic with a gun, bigger agencies will probably find it far more conducive to have a useful idiot in the white house who can be easily led into taking the course of action they want. It's why Putin conspired to put him there in the first place.

It seems to be becoming more apparent that, under Trump, one would have to be a yes-sir, of-course-sir, three-bags-full-sir, in order to survive. He is a bully. One example is Toyota. A Japanese business being dictated to and threatened by a bully. Rather than entice a foreign business to do business directly in the US by taking steps to put favourable conditions in place, he resorts to threats. And say the jobs do go to the US...any guesses who would be filling these jobs? Would it be someone who voiced an opinion against Trump, or someone who's nodding like Churchill in the advert, irrespective of what they may say behind closed doors? They know he didn't get to where he is by considering other people. Why they think he'll start considering them now, unless he gets something in return, is anyone's guess.

His infantile "..the U.S must greatly strengthen and expand its nuclear capability until such time as the world comes to its senses regarding nukes.." is also indicative of a bully in the playground..my bombs are bigger than yours. I have a right to have them but you don't. It sounds like something Kim Yong Un would say. Like with Kim Yong Un, we know who doesn't get the jobs.

What about the fume and disgust of Trump over anyone that insults him.

Poor little snowflake. Have we insured all theatres are now safe spaces to hide out in when people are mean to the guy?

Anyway as this is a massive distraction from the real issue which is that Trump has casually dropped saying Russia was not involved in the hacks and is now merely avoiding the topic. He is talking about how it didn't affect the election (not strictly proven, they said they didn't have proof it did affect the election) and blaming the dnc for poor security and entirely dodging the question of the aggressors.

Figured we should go back to the real topic and not Trump's little pout.

Once again the used tactic: Divert the point you earlier made into something completely unrelated.

Best knock it off, it doesn't work anymore.

He lied about muslims in New Jersey celebrating and was rightly called out on that crap. Kovalevski never wrote that he saw Muslims celebrating. Let's recap, shall we ? Since you seem to take your 'facts' from websites like catcholics4trump.com (the second Google hit if I look for 'trump mocks journalist arabs').

This is what he actually wrote:

Kovalevski pointed out there were never any reports of that happening, only urban myths that Trump seemingly bought into for his own form of propaganda.

And if he was 'mocking a journalist' (once again, that's the sign of a sociopath, not a proper leader) why did he choose to do so by seemingly focusing on the man's disability ? He could have just used words but decided to mimic the man (and don't give me that crap about how he was acting like a journalist backing out of a debate, that's pathetic).

He said he never met the man or knew who he was, despite it becoming clear that Kovalevski interviewed him on several occassions.

The guy's a liar no matter how you try to spin it.

    Crap.
Kovalevski covered the story HIMSELF back in 2001 and then lied that he had reported it.
    Google it.
    Trump was proven right.
He mocked Kovalevski for not remembering.
He did NOT mock his disability.
    End of.

Putting myself into the shoes of one of the 40mio+ people relying on food stamps in the US I think I could live with this sort of vitriol, provided he lives up to his promise of bringing back more jobs into the country, and it looks like he is having a modicum of success on that front.

For the record I think he's a 'chancer', a narcissist, I could go on.. but for now I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt.
