Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sunderland scored 15 goals so far this season, Defoe has gotten 11 of them.

    Anyone watching the Burnley game?

    Hows that looking?

No chance of them holding on.

    It's a Moyes team.

What that 23 pens in a row in the league that they have scored?

Don't do it to yourselves lads.

It's mostly due to the fact that we have been playing great and getting the results but we aren't making as much ground on the other teams in front of us as we would probably like to. There's the fear that this streak of ours will end and we will be back playing catch up if we aren't already doing that already.

You and anyone else who are impatient about our league position need to see that the three teams above us are now within 3 and 4 points of us. We are doing brilliantly and we are creeping up to them. Remember what we were like 6 games ago? Sliding down the league looking like we were gonna be overtaken by Everton and Southampton. Its all good.

I agree with you. I know i'm getting impatient. Just don't feel like we deserve to be where we are with the way we are playing and the results we are getting

Burnley offer nothing in this league.

Out of their 23 points this season just one of them has been gained away from home.

And that was at Old Trafford. :o

Now that Liverpool have drawn I'd rather see Chelsea draw too, it brings the entire race back towards us and chips away at the assumption that we cannot catch Chelsea.

Would have preferred City dropping points tbh. False hope when they went down to 10 men.

Need to capitalise on this, remember last year we never did take advantage

    I'm nervous as hell.

We always seem to struggle against them.

Hopefully a couple of early goals and kill it early.

    Lingard though.

No, this was a great result. Pool take 3 points from City and then give them straight back in a draw

If we win today we would have taken back 3 & 2 points off City & Pool.

Edit. obviously them both getting beat today would be better still!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,843 ✭✭✭GSPfan

There you go lads. Liverpool dropped 2 points and if we win today they'll be within 5 points of us with a visit to Old Trafford next.

City making hard work of a home game to Burnley is a good thing too as it shows how fragile they are at the minute.

pogba to score a screamer today

Nervy about this game. Yeah Liverpool just dropped points, but they still increased the gap between them and us to 8 points. Means absolutely nothing until we beat West Ham.

Win this and the gap between us and 2nd is 5 points. That would be a nice sitting going into the second half of the season, considering that run of 1-1 draws we had.

That's how you properly jinx. Let that be a lesson.

Were Sunderland's penalties the correctly given? I hope not.

Supposedly it would've been fairer for them to have been awarded 3 penalties than 1, and that's coming from a Liverpool fan mate.

Please just get the job done nice and quickly!! My heart still hasn't recovered from the Boro game :p

Sunderland got the two stonewall pens. The third should have been given but you could argue to toss on it.

No complaints about either peno. A bit annoyed by the free given prior to the second peno as it looked like Lucas didn't foul Defoe but Sunderland could have had a second peno for a handball against Can either way (although I think that would have been harsh).

Sunderland deserved a point but if we'd been a little more clinical we would have won.

I think most Liverpool fans would have been happy with four points from City and Sunderland games, it's just a shame the way the points fell.

Wasn't expecting that red card was very very harsh but hope Jones is OK.

We were on the end of one of the worst decisions of the season two days ago.

Today one goes in our favour.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,330 ✭✭✭Dwarf.Shortage

Extremely soft red but we're due a bit of luck.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,777 ✭✭✭jimmytwotimes 2013

Tough call on West Ham there. Both feet off the ground is only reason I can see why the ref might have given it, but still think it's not a red.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,304 ✭✭✭madcabbage

Dangerous by the two of them to be fair, but no way is that a sending off.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,689 ✭✭✭sky88

I know it fell in our favour but the standard of referees is terrible

    fully deserved red :)

Can't help but feel the ref won't be too slow about evening it up if he gets an opportunity. Hopefully Rojo won't give him one.

Shocking bad alot of the games are been decided by refereeing decisions and that's not good for the league

Worried now about a ten man backs to the wall performance from West Ham now. A goal would kill them so hopefully we can get one soon.
