I'd really love to know just what the flock is going on with Mikhi.

A game like today is crying out for someone as incisive as him.

    Its bizarre.

The papers were saying Mata was finished despite him playing game after game. It was nonsense. HM, our £30 million signing, can't even get into the squad and it's nearly December. He's done.

Just like our season after that goal.

    pure robbery.

    Awful by Rashford

Arsenal have been pathetic. Can't be letting teams leave with points when they play as gutlessly as they have today.

Can't understand how there's a 1 on 1 situation at that point in the game.

Plenty on here saying it as well.

Played well but that equaliser is demoralising

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,943 ✭✭✭✭ShaneU

Complete dominance but we don't create enough clear cut chances and it cost us.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 42,606 Mod ✭✭✭✭Lord TSC

    Heartbreaking.

Arsenal were dreadful, but it's the usual United performance we've seen for years; 1-0 up and everyone just decides to stroll to 90th minute. Arsenal did not deserve that point at all, but you can't switch off like that against them :/

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,576 ✭✭✭deaddonkey15

    This team is so soft.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,136 ✭✭✭✭How Soon Is Now

That would make you ****ing sick.

Great performance Arsenal done nothing all game pop up with one chance last few minutes.....

Uhhh so typical of our luck this season.

Ref cost that game. Some of the decisions in that game would make me question if he was on the take. A real disgusting performance.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,019 ✭✭✭✭adox

All going well, score the goal and then decide to sit deep and stop playing. What the **** do you expect?

    So utterly frustrating.

    Ref was atrocious.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,137 ✭✭✭✭TheDoc

Another pathetic result at home. Arsenal offered nothing today and were garbage. The team retreating like that after the goal was asking for trouble. Should have gone to get a second and even a third. Arsenal were all over the place.

Just another ridiculous day at Old Trafford. Rubbish

Arsenal were there for the taking today,

Criminal letting that big lump Giroud getting a run on cross like that

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,304 ✭✭✭madcabbage

Can't blame the ref for that one lads. They switched off after going ahead and got burnt for it. A right kick in the bollicks! :(

    They're not on our radar.

Time to start looking back at Everton and trying to catch Spurs.

We are near the stage now where we have to accept we won't finish ahead of them and will cersiamkg struggle to get top four.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,006 ✭✭✭edgecutter

This is more than bad luck, we are becoming worse than Arsenal in how we bottle matches. The game was there for the taking and we stopped after scoring.

That aside, Andre Marriner has some serious questions to answer, absolute atrocious performance.

Thought we were very good. People saying arsenal were terrible but that was mainly because Utd outplayed them and were first to most balls in midfield. Individual mistake from a young Rashford doing his best to cover back cost us the game. The Giroud header was very hard to stop considering how many Asrwenal had forward in the box.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,474 ✭✭✭deadybai

Well that's the season over. Well probably end up finishing 6th or 7th if were lucky . That's a brutal 2points to drop

We have been saying that we have looked good even when we played stoke and burnley, the problem is we aren't winning at home and getting the three points.

I'm happier now than I was before the game about our season. It was a sickener but **** happens. The ref screwed us but we outplayed one of the title favorites by a mile. Win the next few games and we're going to be back in the mixer.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,523 ✭✭✭jambofc

    absolutely sickening
another game we totally dominate and only get a point
we are having no luck this season........ none

Ref had nothing to do with Rashford getting skinned on the wing and Giroud having acres of space for the header, or the multitude of passes and possession Arsenal were allowed in the build-up to the goal.

Ref was shíte, but had no effect on the result. We went asleep after 1-0, happens too often.

Dreadful match a few moments of magic but just too many might have been moments sums up the season so far, we are still in with a chance of Champions League place for next season are still in all other competitions too but jaysus it's hard to watch effort like that being snatched at the close. Carrick or Mata or even Martial for his efforts deserved Man of the Match, Ander was great too, so were Darmian and Phil Jones, that Giroud goal was unstoppable but Matas strike was sublime.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,136 ✭✭✭✭How Soon Is Now

Nor scoring enough is massively costing us. Defensively where stopping most teams are biggest issue is when we go ahead to often we hold out and end up blowing the game.

****ing Liverpool City and Chelsea will probably all score 3 or 4 this weekend they will more than likely keep going trying for goals all game to.

You won't see them shut up shop as soon as one goes in.

Another season without a title. And we've tried everything.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,006 ✭✭✭beno619

I don't thing there's anything wrong with dropping off.

The lack of organisation is sickening though, how hard it it to pack a defence for 5 minutes and see out a game.

I mean, thats hardly surprising. The same problem today is the same one faced in this games; soft players who can't finish chances, and when we do, are lazy and switch off. At this stage, I've resigned myself to the fact this sort of thing will continue to happen so long as these players are in place. But it shouldn't be a shock to anyone that the players who were lackadaisical in games a few weeks back were again today.

I agree, Rashford needs to close down better and our defence knows that they should be aiming for Giroud.

Again, I feel sorry for Jose, 6 points dropped due to incompetence from our players at home. Can't score and can't see out games.

Another season without a title. And we've tried everything.

Could also be out of the top four again.

Far too many overpaid players that need to do better.

For once Souness is talking sense

Pogba could have done more to help out Rashford

Rashford needs to take ox out. Take the yellow

Good cross and header by Giroud in fairness. Fairly annoyed we go into auto deep defensive mode after scoring.. When we were pressing from the front Arsenal couldn't do anything. Deserved to win today, the goal was their only shot on target I think.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,137 ✭✭✭✭TheDoc

There was so many positives today too. But it's typical United last three seasons

We should have kept the pressure on to get a second even a third goal. And it would be all positive. Pogba I thought was brilliant. Herrera becoming a real big player. Mata being Mata. Valencia was marauding etc. So many positives

But the team retreats, manager then just feeds that mentality with a late defensive sub and of course Giroud scores. Like **** sake.

Neville mentioned in commentary but Martial is getting away with murder. 50m quid and it's like people forget that and think he was an academy product. He was useless again today bar a little spell with two shots.

It was incredibly frustrating to see him waltz around being slack as **** and having Memphis on the bench who has had a good week. Martial isn't playing his way back into form, he just needs dropping.

Again so many positives today but they will likly be forgotten with that result. And probably rightly so. There is no more time for transitional periods. This manager was brought in to get things firing immediately.

A serious run of wins needs to start from West Ham, no more excuses.

Whatever about Martial, the last thing the team needs now is giving Memphis a spot. He's miles off the first eleven IMO.
