Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

just play carrick in all league games, controls everything.

all players in final third look hungry tonight as well.

This Rooney run of form keeps on going. He along with most of them were very good again tonight.

Don't get me wrong, love Basti but can't see him lasting with Jose around. Great result, Micky has to start every game, we play so much better with him on the field.

I want Liverpool over two legs now rather than getting them in the final should we win a semi.

Still in the first half they couldn't hit a bulls arse with a banjo. Thank God we killed the came off.

But you can enjoy that performance at the time and in the moment? Even for a while after it?

That kind of whole picture comment is for later on and tomorrow. Enjoy the highlights again.

The key seems to be Jose not been on the touchline

    Rui in.

But the difference actually finishing some chances does

Thats our 4th time this season scoring 4 goals in a game. By my count we only did that 4 times total in Van Gaals 2 seasons.

No thanks. Don't want to play them twice.

Plus Klopp has lost 5 cup finals in a row.

Oh of course, one cannot help but lament all the missed chances when we outclassed the opposition though.

I'd rather them in the final. Klopp has a bit of an issue with finals :pac:

    That was hugely enjoyable.

Ibra with a Cantonaesque pose after the fourth goal. Class.

Miki was just excellent. Speedy enough but even quicker in his head.

im not one of those who is "even more" annoyed about the weekend after tonight. Tonight just helps reinforce what most have been saying.

Nice to finally put away some of the chances we created. Looking really good going forward now and plenty of selection headaches. Still worried about our defense especially from set pieces.

For me they just reaffirm that in those draws we weren't far away at all, that we were doing the right things without getting the rewards but that if we keep doing them, more and more those of draws will turn into victories.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,507 ✭✭✭✭castletownman

It's surely no coincidence that in Miki's last two starts, the side have scored eight goals.

Selection headache in the final third for Goodison though. With Rooney suspended, you'd imagine Mata will slot right in. Assuming Pogba starts too, but hard to see where. Martial and Mikhi deserve to start again, while the team is better balanced with Carrick shielding the back four. Martial should be the sacrificial lamb all considered, but have a feeling it will be Carrick (unless Pogba comes in as a direct swap with Rooney)

No doubt the tempo, flow and general attractiveness has improved no end this season though. Curse those pesky sloppy results

All competitive games, but I just skimmed through a list of results so may have missed one.

Thing that baffles me is would blind not be a natural replace the for Carrick? He has just about all the same attributes but never plays there

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14,846 ✭✭✭✭Liam McPoyle

Mikhis no look pass for Tonys first.

    Very enjoyable game.

That's the most overall influence Rooney has had in a game for us for a long time IMO. I thought he was brilliant. Excellent passing, movement and a few flashes of the old aggression I thought he had lost. He really is at his best when he is fired up and on the edge. If that was the kind of Rooney we were going to see from now on he would be the first name on the team sheet. Excellent performance and he could easily have picked up the MOM award himself.

I thought Henrikh was outstanding too. He releases his passes nice and early which are very hard for defenders and midfielders to intercept. Great pace and always looking to get into the attacking third quickly too.

2 nice goals for Martial which will do him a world of good.

We have to start replicating these results in the league now.

Thought Zlatan was immense in the second half. Fantastic work outside the box in terms of hold up play and bringing teammates into the game.

    Majestic stuff.

Have to be happy with Hull tbh.

If us and the Scouse make the final at least we will have a couple of months to get the team to gel better.

Yes cause the odds were so overwhelmingly unrealistic that United could get Hull over 2 other teams

Just let that sink in for a moment:

Mourhino "we played beautiful attacking football"

    And we did.

Negative manager is just lazy ass analysis on here.

Tbh it's not too far fetched to think that they would love to have a chance to make it a United v Liverpool final to big up the competition

Southampton v Southampton reserves in the other draw. Who will come out on top?

She be a good tie also
