We would do the same but it's not possible with high input prices.

    They'd live in your ear....

Very frugal with personal finances, with very little of the waste and exuberance that we have here.

Ambitions are not always driven by making a **** load of money...

Had 2 French groups visit today. All dairy farmers from Normandy area. One group this morning and one this afternoon.

Their price at the moment is 31.9c/l for 4 fat and 3.5 p

Second group is 32c/l for 4 and 3.5

Bothe supplying small processors producing cheese.

They thought it was extraordinary the amount of work we do and all asked what holidays we took. They couldn’t believe we take 2 weeks hols, they really thought we were tied to the cows. They really must make a meal out of any work they do, all talk of coffee breaks, lifestyle and tractors

    Inclusive or exclusive of vat?

June 1st, end of season in NZ. Emptying stores.

I honestly can’t see price dropping here this month and expect an increase next month

Edit: all indicators are thus imo

Down 2cpl how the fook is that justified

They've held price and there is no argument otherwise .
All the blame for price drop is with co-op.
Couldn't be better for big Jim.

Simply it's thier over-realiance on powders, smp/wmp aren't returning anything that would warrant over 30 cent a litre, butter is returning over 40 cent a litre even taking into account a poor smp price....
So logical you'd think they would increase butter capacity and move away from powders but the opposite is happening

    .
Can't have one without the other. skim I'm taking about
The Enriched milk powder is in some way value added. Doesn't seem to have driven on like it promised to do.
Marketed in poorer countries so v price sensitive it seems.

A little bit about the dairy trade war between the US and Canada.

Can't blame him, probably bring in supply constraints and start manipulating the market. Hopefully kill of big ag while there at it with a little help from brexit.

This Kerry fixed price offering is extraordinary.

Open for a 24 hour window.....

If this tranche of milk had a genuine buyer, the window of application would stay open until the tranche is full, not for a period of time regardless of the uptake..

Out if all the offerings from all the processors to date....this is the weirdest..

Im tempted to sign up to 10% as its only based on contracted volume which is only 120% of quota which is small now since most lads increased. Its going to come in at 35/36c on average

So price held, as far as I can see, base up 1c to 31c and no 'hardship' payment this month.

There is the nuclear option. Sell all the cows and buy higher genetic merit stock. You will spend years trying to breed better cows.

Right now? Graze grass at 1300-1400 covers max and bale anything over that unless growth is slow.

Lime as much as you can afford to to get your pH up to 6.3 on mineral soils. Your best return will be on lime, payback in 12 months and worth an extra bag of Can/acre/year for5 years.

You mind saying what c/l you got on the milk cheque, and for what solids please. No worries if you don't want to.

We have Holstein Friesian but we had a jersey bull with d heifers d last 2 years so the first of them will be coming in next spring, there is only 5 next year which isn't great, we had 27 heifers but 9 went down with TB. Ya we milk record, their ebi would be fairly low
