    Any word on Kerry's price?

    Nothing yet.

There was a Board meeting scheduled for this morning, though.

GDT down 1.7%. It's a funny result, only skim rising by 1.1% but everything else dropping by 2% or more? Unless a huge volume of skim sold?

So kerry Co-OP is buying back its processing facilities. Interesting stuff. Away from the stock markets can only be good for the supplier I think.

Will there be a commitment to sell product to the plc?

Can the coop get product to market without going through the plc?

Currently Kerry doesn't sell through Ornua. Can the coop utilise Ornua for route to market?

Interesting comparison on Agriland of the prices paid by different processors for their milk.

Dairygold down near the bottom as expected. We have been getting bad prices for 30 years, so what we never had we won't miss

we were getting a good price in dairygold a few years back. but we now have a very weak board who haven't the know how to hold management to account. nor do they have an interest in doing so. many of them are very well off so don't care. a good business man should always demand the best regardless of personal circumstances.
more young guys need to get involved and get interested in their business and challenge them and give them a good kicking as they need to sharpen up.
what's the point of running your farm to the best of your ability when the people who are marketing your product aren't doing the business. board and politics of board is the problem .

If you milk cows in far flung Allihies, you'll get the best price in the country, courtesy of Drinagh.

Not a dg supplier on your point re the board etc can sympathise somewhat coop boards can be intimidating ,v hard to get on and often harder to get off management can mould boards to there way of thinking and dissenting voices are very often not appreciated these are the best board men they’ll stay chirping away but eventually they’ll just be broken down and rather than banging there head against a inpeneterall wall they’ll call it a day
Then you’ll have the lads roaring and shouting from the sidelines but will never put themselves forward for rep committees for boards etc

But people have to realise its a different modus operandi when you go on a board.that braying and shouting will get you elected but once your in there its all about building the network.if you isolate yourself you will achieve nothing and when you want something done you must have the ground work done beforehand and you have to think 5 steps a head if you are planning to do something.totally prejudiced this but down in west cork we always had the idea that dairygold farmers were never hungry enough to pressurise their coop whereas in west cork you were always one step from starvation and working very hard just to stay going and this transferred to the coop.daft idea i suppose

It shouldn’t be and roaring and shouting without substance will get u nowhere wether o or off the board boards are very often very close knit with often people on them for years and management will have worked hard to get them to a way of thinking people with there own opinions against the grain can be sidelined by the majority and then u have different sub sections on boards and people who have eyes on bigger roles like chairman etc they won’t let much get in there way of self progression ....
Boards are elected by shareholders and rep committee and shouldn’t forget that .suppliers are going to have to stand up tho and start paying more attention to what’s going on in there coops there still a serious amount of people who know little of what happens there milk when it leaves there yard this has to change

Straight question ,are you talking from experience of being on a board.secondaly you are 100 %right about people being involved in their coops.the healthiest thing on any board is maximum terms and unfortunately despite this what we are seeing around here is fellas going for a second run not because they want to but other fellas are not stepping foward.only my experience.

The problem i believe in Glanbia is that the farming board members are brain washed by the high level employees. I even see that in the local committee - if you said 1 word criticising Glanbia, Talbot or the board you are shouted down, how dare you question them. It's like a cult

Pity our conservative coops don’t see it that way when setting prices our coop sees milk prices as flat maby 0.5 cent up maby 0.5 down for rest of year despite practically all our milk going into casein products for rest of year

They might give a few cent into the winter just to keep milk coming in, weather is against alot of lads now and early drop-offs would be on the cards, the chinese situation should see milk price very promising heading into 2021 but of course Brexit will be rolled out to counteract any significant price rises

Imo the fixed Kerry price is very poor or do we have to face the reality that 30 cent base is the top price we will get going forward .What was the price 30 years ago ?
