You can now check out the line-ups per day of the concerts programmed during the week of Primavera Sound 2017, from Monday 29th May when Primavera als Clubs kicks off to Sunday 4th June, when the now traditional closing party will take place.

As well as being present in Barcelona concert venues, the festival will be doing Primavera al Raval again this year, filling this central neighbourhood with a large number of free concerts and activities for all audiences for the second consecutive time.

As usual the main site of the Parc del Fòrum will host the free inauguration day on Wednesday 31st May as well as the majority of the line-up from Thursday 1st to Saturday 3rd June.

The rapper Kate Tempest is joining the programme and will give two concerts within the framework of the festival on Wednesday 31st May and on Thursday 1st June. This young London artist who has divided her career between poetry and rap has managed to make a name for herself by combining the two: British rap and an elaborate and social message against a backdrop of electronic music. Her new album, “Let them Eat Chaos”, is one of the most exceptional records of this year.

The Barcelona band Ocellot will also be part of the event’s line-up to perform their psychedelic pop live on Sunday 4th June and renowned dj Marc Piñol, from the label Hivern Discs, will showcase his electronic arsenal on Wednesday 31st May.

What's the normal attendance at this and how many stages are there?

Im gonna have to sell my ticket for this but how awkward will it be for the person who buys it as has my name on the pdf

  • Registered Users Posts: 284 ✭✭Sr. Pirotecnic

    55,000 a day.

I make it 12 stages in total, though I might have forgotten some!
two massive "headliner" ones facing each other ("Mordor")
    amphitheatre-style Rayban
two more big ones and two pretty small ones
indoor small "hidden" stage just two shows a day
plush modern indoor hall - Auditori
small sponsored stage, just a few shows
two (one last time) in electronica area

What was the beach stage like last year? I know a lot of acts got added to the beach stage last year around April or so but I can only assume they are included on the poster already as there are a lot of electronic acts and DJs already.

What are the chances of some more acts being added to the bill or is that the final line up?

There will be more additions. Looking at the daily breakdown, it struck me how short they are on big hitters for the two main stages. In recent years, you'd have three big ones alternating on those stages on any given night ( St Vincent - QOTSA - Arcade Fire in '14, Savages - Radiohead - Last Shadow Puppets in '16 ) but I don't see that in next year's bill. Look at Friday night, Frank Ocean and The XX is about it as far as main stage headliners goes, so there may be biggish names to come.

Nightmare, was waiting to be paid before I bought tickets for the Friday.

Any decent online resellers or where should I look?

Go to the Porto one, tickets still on sale for that, line up is fairly similar.

Did Primavera stream the festival last year, I'm sure I looked at some of LCD's set last year, would they likely stream someone like Aphex Twin.

I've lots of overlap. 10/15 minutes here and there.

Broken Social Scene (7.30pm-8.25pm on June 1) clash (at least partly) with Julia Jacklin, Solange, Glass Animals and the Zombies. FFS.

I'm free and easy then out for the night - Bon Iver, SURVIVE, Fatima Yamaha (or Joy Orbison?)

At least Jacklin shows up again the next day so leave her out of my deliberations.

But on June 2, Whitney, Mitski and Sinkane overlap, as do Sampha and Mac Demarco. Great run then to the end of the night - Frank Ocean, the xx, Run the Jewels, hour off and Talaboman.

June 3 looks decent (as in, fewer clashes!) Magnetic Fields and Weyes Blood in the afternoon sounds pretty sweet, Pond/Van Morrison/Angel Olsen isn't ideal, while Grace Jones and Hamilton Leithauser directly clash which is a balls. Love Hamilton, wouldn't actually be a major Grace Jones fan but those Im going with assure me that I'll love Grace Jones live and I feel like it's not one I'll get a chance to see many more times.

Lvl Up overlapping with Arcade Fire (who clash with John Talabot and Wild Beasts FFS!)

Wind things down with Preoccupations at 1.30am and then !!! until 4am, straight to the airport for a 6am flight home.

    Yup.

Great to have the times, the app is a bit buggy on my phone. Seems more complicated than needed too.

Fairly delighted with that overall, not too many bad clashes for me although there is a lot happening around the 8.30-10.00 mark on the Thursday, Solange/Broken Social Scene/Glass Animals/Romare/Pender Street Steppers all clashing around that time. Also on the Sunday I am raging that Arcade Fire/Wild Beasts/John Talabot all clash but confident I will catch the end of John Talabot after AF! Other than that the days work out very nicely.

First time going this year - what time do people generally start going to the festival site at? Not a chance I would last from 12 in the day until 5 in the morning!

I see Frank Ocean had to cancel his Sasquatch festival appearance which I believe is the date before his Primavera appearance.

Yeah seen that, I'm getting worried now.

Although Hangout Fest not cancelled... so hopefully everything is ok. Be a big disappointment for myself if he doesn't show - in the words of Frank, there will be tears.

From the site to the airport for a 6am flight, Christ you are a trooper. Sounds like a good idea now but on the night ......

    yeah!

Especially with the bank holiday weekend. Stay and sweat it all out on the beach for a couple of days!

It sounds like a terrible idea now and an even worse one on the night but needs must, unfortunately.

I'll just have to make the absolute most of the days before it!!

Another Frank Ocean US festival show cancelled. "Production issues beyond his control" again...

    http://pitchfork.com/news/71869-frank-ocean-cancels-hangout-festival-set-replaced-by-phoenix/

That means that Primavera is his first show on this tour (if it goes ahead).
