I was thinking something along the lines of the following.
First time speccing something other than gaming, so I'm not sure on the specs so far.

    Intel i7-5820K hex core
    ASRock X99 Extreme4
    Corsair Vengeance LPX 64 GB (8 x 8 GB)
    Samsung 850 EVO 500GB
    MSI GeForce GTX 1070 8GB
2TB 3.5" (Storage) - Will eventually pick up a Pegasus R4 Raid thunderbolt drive, so the motherboard needs to have thunderbolt connectivity.
    Corsair VS550
    Corsair Carbide Series 100R

I think you should definitely invest in a better PSU, something like the RM series from Corsair, the G2 from EVGA or something similar. Other than that it looks good. I'm not sure about the RAM requirements you have so I'd leave that to your judgement.

Cheers. Will change to an RM model. Guess it suits better as it's fully modular.

Decided on 64gb of ram as also running several VM's.

Might be more worth your while picking up 16 gig Dimms. Leaves you open to upgrade to 128 gig at a later date if needed.
