Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Weird venue they've chosen, but should be some good fights.

    John Redmond up first.

    EDIT: That didn't last long.

That was fast. Is that guys nickname ironic?

    Stupid venue really.

They could have sold a decent amount of tickets for this and had it in a proper venue open to the general public.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,649 ✭✭✭Whelo79

Really odd venue alright. I wonder what the thought process behind it was.

Pimblett is a joke, missed weight again yesterday. Took him an extra two hours to make the cut.

I assume they had no choice.

BT are broadcasting an event that's being streamed live on UFC Fight Pass.

They want to make sure there's no technical faults.

His weight issues keep getting brushed under the carpet too.

152 ****ing pounds he weighed in at against Violet in the summer.

I understand the thinking behind the venue. Keeps costs very low and the profile is very high given it's position live on telly leading into UFC 205.

Paddy Pimblett i don't like whatsoever on any level. He never shuts up about McGregor and Artem on twitter. Well this will be a good way of telling where he's at because Artem KO'd Julian Erosa stiff. Anything less than a finish and he'll have to quieten down for a while. On that basis i hope Juicy J gets it done lol.

Wow Fishgold lucky to hold on there.

So Fishgold retains, that fight was extremely close. Couldn't call it myself.

If Pimblett was Irish he would be loved imo, dont get the hate he receives terrific grappler I like him.

    Cage warriors?

    Completed it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,649 ✭✭✭Whelo79

Pimblett is the tubbiest featherweight I have ever seen.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,738 ✭✭✭Naos

Can see Paddy getting clipped here in the stand-up.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 7,269 ✭✭✭Gamebred

Cant box eggs and it doesnt matter at this level his grappling is on another level lovely trip there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,847 ✭✭✭✭callaway92

Pimblett is ridic careless in his standup. Just wings lefts and rights.

I suppose it's a bit unfair....just don't like him. He's far too easily hit and his chin is suspect. That's the 3rd time he's been dropped in 5 fights.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,924 ✭✭✭wonderfullife

Timely reminder - Artem Lobov absolutely destroyed Erosa.

Paddy is 1-1 with him here and if he keeps swinging like a headless chicken he's gonna lose the belt.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,847 ✭✭✭✭callaway92

Great fight so far. One round apiece - 2nd to Erosa for the knockdown.

This is like amateur stuff at times.

Yeah not a good thing to be doing at his age of 21 if he wants a long career in the sport, he needs to go spend some months just striking training relying on his grappling too much.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 7,269 ✭✭✭Gamebred

Artem would ko Paddy stiff if they sign him and make the fight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,847 ✭✭✭✭callaway92

    Sick flying knee.

Pimblett gonna get stopped in the 4th by strikes.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 7,269 ✭✭✭Gamebred

Paddy's done dont think Arose knows how hurt he is.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,924 ✭✭✭wonderfullife

2-1 Juicy J on effective striking and damage.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,683 ✭✭✭Subcomandante Marcos

If Erosa had of just walked away the ref would have called that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,182 ✭✭✭RonanP77

It's definitely not looking good for Paddy. He's looked class on the ground but really poor on the feet.

Dead on - couldn't hear his coaches shouting at him either to do damange.

Paddy straight for a TD now.

You can see the vest marks Paddy must've been on holiday on a piss up, no cardio hes like a drunk here.

Erosa seems gun shy all of a sudden...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,847 ✭✭✭✭callaway92

Erosa's fight IQ is about minus 5

It's pathetic. He must be gassed himself.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,495 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Even a low level UFC fighter would have Paddy finished off by now. Erosa is brainless in there.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 7,269 ✭✭✭Gamebred

He cant even shoot a takedown, the ''us scousers dont get knocked out'' vines are about to come out now to haunt him if Arosa pulls the finger out

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,649 ✭✭✭Whelo79

    That 4th round was pathetic.

Why is he spamming leg kicks and oblique kicks? mind boggling, Pimblett has no energy to even grapple which is rare for him.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,629 ✭✭✭googled eyes

Erosa should have taken his head off in that round

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,847 ✭✭✭✭callaway92

Luke Barnatt not bad on color commentary btw.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,924 ✭✭✭wonderfullife

I hope this well and truly shows people he's nowhere near ready for the UFC and Sean Shelby probably knew that.

He's getting beat up by a pot-shotter who has no chin himself.

Two cans trying to crush one another
    Venue is odd

The spanish lad Sage fought from UFC Latin America was worse than these lads.

They put it in BT studios to avoid technical issues (most likely) and then this happens in the last 10 seconds of the main event.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,683 ✭✭✭Subcomandante Marcos

What a joke of a decision...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,495 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

49-46 for Pimblett? What the hell is that judge smoking?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,847 ✭✭✭✭callaway92

Ah come on - most people still know what UFC level is. Yes, there are exceptions to the rule but in general, it's the top tier.

I'm watching on Fight Pass and there are technical difficulties - who did the judges give it to?!
