You need a uk shipping address to buy the fire tv stick so maybe they are now checking the credit card billing address too... hope not!

I saw it for sale for €50 in a maplin shop the other day so you could try there if asap beats price..Not on their irish website though.

Nothing listed under the "Amazon Devices" section apart from refurbished Kindles.

Am I correct in saying that new items will be added continuosly for the next few days? (Hoping to pick up a Kindle Voyage)

    Thanks,

    P.

ParcelMotel worked fine for me a few months ago

Lets me order stick or Fire TV using Parcel Motel. Just checked it there.

Have a look at AddressPal and see if that will work for you.

    https://addresspal.anpost.ie/

Using it away and it's working perfect. UK postage address and you pay €3.50 when you collect at your local post office.

For anyone using ParcelMotel/AddressPal, Amazon might ship 1 order in multiple packages, and you might end up paying for ParcelMotel/AddressPal more than once

I don't know what's going on. Tried PM also... Thinking of buying the Hisense 49" now as well!! Why did I open up Bargain Alerts today??!!

Stick will do fine for streaming. But the box is a good bit better...if you can stretch to it I would.

    Both are overpriced anyhow

I paid just £15 for mine!

Even £40 is very good, for an incredibly powerful computing device that gives you access to so much content.

When you say box you mean?? I still can't get it delivered! FML!

For people posting bigger boxes, use PW. Vans aren't as limited on size as a box.

Have been a bit underwhelmed by what's on "Black Friday" offer so far today.

This Karcher window cleaner is reasonable value I think (half interested myself):
    Karcher WV5 Plus

Sony 4K HDR TV is cracking price, pity its all claimed.
Very well reviewed and one of the best 4K TV for console/PC gaming.

Well if its anything like the last few years, prepare for disappointment.

Can only remember a few occasions in a lifetime where things you actually WANT to get, get put on sale, at prices hard to resist.

Prepare for more headphones/SSD's and other crap you dont want :D
I think monitors and TV's got some half decent discounting last year.

Well reviewed except for the Android TV. I've read reviews months back about the thing switching itself on in the middle of the night, slowness and glitchiness fairly a common sight.

Went for Samsung instead, though software wise stable, lack of apps is killing it. My old Samsung TV I sold had more apps than the new one :D

I'm in the market for a monitor and waiting patiently with fingers and toes crossed!

smaller 43" version is up in a few mins, wanted the bigger one myself.

Edit: in my basket, is the extra 6" a big difference for 4K/HDR?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,373 ✭✭✭ongarite

43" is meant to be the better screen with VA panel.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,421 ✭✭✭✭rob316

Hoping for a nice reduction on a Optoma HD141X, my current projector took a terrible fall recently :(

Not sure on the screen quality, but that depends on your viewing distance.

Do remember if your far away from your TV, you might not even see the improvement from 1080p.

I was really hyped up about getting one and I didn't see a huge improvement :D
You'll be hard pressed to find true 4K content. YouTube and Netflix do 4K, but its at a lower quality.

If your buying a 4K TV your really more so investing in the future.
Good up scaling is really important :D Do remember a lot of TV channels aren't even HD.

4k will be pretty much pointless in 43inch. To actually have benefit in real world from 4k, you need 50inch +++.

If I would see a decent deal on SSD or gaming laptop i would scoop it up, but every year these black Friday deals always disappoint.

I bought a tv off amazon and had it delivered by An Post in Ireland. I did have to go collect from the An Post depot but there was no problem with it. It is too big for Parcel Motel so no point spending 7 euros just to collect it from their depot, when can pay the standard Amazon postage and collect from Post office. I think my delivery was free from Amazon but cant remember for sure.

You can use parcel motel or parcel wizard (just call parcel wizard first)
We had a 42inch TV delivered a few years ago with parcel motel and they mis measured the box and charged us over 200euro for delivery and refused to re measure it eventually we got reimbursed after we sent back photos of the box beside with a measuring tape ended up being about 15 euro I think

That's mad one advantage of living just across the border is cheap postage but disadvantage is all my mates and work colleagues are flat out this time of year getting stuff delivered might introduce a base fee😜

I am looking to get a 1tb HDD to expand storage on XBOX One, they always have a few discounted at some point over BF & CM. Am also looking to see if the PS4 bundles get any discount. Interestingly the PS4 is listed under the deals but at the same price they have been for the last few weeks.
Have all my Xmas presents in my wishlist..... Now just watch the new deals for the next couple of weeks.

£50 off if you spend £200 or more on many warehouse deals.

Wondering if it's worth risking a warehouse monitor. It will be 20ish cheaper to start with and then 50 more.

The only thing is if they discount the new ones in a few days time I'd be livid having bought second hand!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 302 ✭✭tannytantans

Is anyone else finding the website very hard to navigate this year?
I'm looking for some books as stocking fillers but there are over 400 results and I can't seem to find a way to filter through all the rubbish!Hoping the offerings improve as the week goes on.

They aren't necessarily second hand a 'used very good' description will normally mean slight box damage, good bargains to be had and if you aren't happy you can always return it

Probably the question to consider - Is it worth saving €70 to risk a bad pixel? I had that experience a few years ago with buying a returned monitor.

For anyone using Firefox or Internet Explorer - I suggest using Edge or Chrome for browsing the Amazon lightning deals pages as they load a lot faster, particularly when quickly glancing page by page.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,725 ✭✭✭Metric Tensor

That was my worry - that I would end up with one that was returned for dead pixel or backlight bleed reasons.

The one I'm looking at now is 339 sterling and I'd get it for 249 sterling - I think with the 30 day return as an option it might be worth the risk?!

Anybody have a link to what the deals page looked like last year? The layout this year is horrific looking and clogged up with rubbish.

Someone on here last year posted a link to the previous years one too as it was awful last year as well.

Last year it was plain and simple, Active, Upcoming, Watching

In order to get it clear like that now you have to go through a whole lot of hoops. F****** disastrous from Amazon.

Try the book depository. It's Amazon owned, often cheaper and has free delivery as standard.

The Nighthawk x6 AC3200 is on a lightening deal at 8pm tonight. That's one I have in my wish list. Currently £186. How much do you think it will be reduced?
