10-12 years ago, I was aware of a lake near where I'm from in Tipperary that was meant to have trout in it. This was long before I took up fly fishing. Then I heard maybe 4 or 5 years ago from a friend of mine that this lake was not open, he said they had trouble with vandalism in the car park or somesuch and that the lake was closed.

So I was surprised to get a text from my angling club informing me that the Munster Bank Championship (which I never heard tell of) will be held at Lough Doire Bhile on the 27th November.

A bit of googling seems to show that the lake is indeed open and looks to be a decent spot:

So the question is- has anyone ever fished there, and if so what is it like?
