Trump and his camp brought around the entire episode that is going on now. By involving the Russians in their campaign by trump taking Russian money going back years and by backing a man who has no business running a country of the stature of the United states.

The media and or anyone who opposed trump are not the ones to blame here nor should be vilified despite what the websites that you subscribe to say in their articles and via their diatribe comments section.

Reading through the last few pages its a pretty great little snapshot oc the "Goooooooo sports!!" attitude of some towards modern politics, of reflexive defensiveness, but also of exactly how not to engage someone willing to admit a failing in their own recent beliefs as pushing on with "see you were wrong! Wrong wrong wrong! You've begun to make the steps towards that and somewhat admitted as much but not fully so once again you were wrong!"

That is something the far right media absolutely feeds off of and as we have seen tonight, just makes that person revert right back to their "side" quickly and sharply.

To answer your question about why the Dems can't hold onto seats, It kinda is the media.

Fox news is the most watched cable news station and if you look at their website at pretty much any time, it's pure unadulterated propaganda

If people aren't watching fox, they're listening to syndicated talk radio populated by conspiracy theorists, mega church evangalists and ultra conservatives.

There are newspapers of record, the likes of the Washington Post and the New York Times that have some opinion columnists, but their reporting is mostly centrist balanced and rigorous. These are called 'liberal' by people who choose to read the gutter press, like the Washington Times and the New York Post, and Breitbart, news organisations that are naked propaganda and make editorial decisions purely based on political and commercial interests with barely any attention given to truth and accuracy.

The likes of CNN and MSNBC are slanted towards the democratic party, but they are slanted towards the right wing elements in that party, at a stretch they're centre right. These outlets are just as opposed to genuine progressive politics as the other corporate media is.

Republicans and libertarians love shouting about the 'liberal media' but in a world where reporting the truth about republicans makes them look like monsters, telling the truth automatically turns any media into 'liberal media'
