I am actually a bit concerned for McCain right now. He needs to go see a doctor I think. He made very little sense and seemed to be very confused.

Brilliant job my McCain. He has somehow linked the HC e-mail investigation with Russian collusion.

The fact it make no sense is irrelevant. He got the double standards line out and that will be the lead on many right wing media.

McCain has me very confused. I get the idea he doesn't see the two FBI Inv's were and are two separate cases, despite them being wrapped around the one election. Good thing he was left to last and todays - edit, open-door - session is over.

So does this help trump or is he worse after this hearing ?

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,683 ✭✭✭✭aloyisious

At the end of the hearing Sky news was running a twin-screen set showing Don at a Christian Religious faith event telling the audience he would end the attack on religion, we're under siege, we will come out on top, you wait and see.

Sky is reporting that Don's lawyer will be out with a statement later this evening on the hearing today and that JC did not say Don has done anything in the line of obstruction.... The next session is behind closed doors and info might be on TV at the top of the hour..

A lot of comments in other online cesspools are trying to now call for Comey to be locked up for having his conversation disclosed to the media via a colleague.

Just a reminder that DC is a One-Party-Consent jurisdiction:

D.C. Code [section] 23-542(b)(3). "It shall not be unlawful under this section for a person not acting under color of law to intercept a wire or oral communication, where such person is a party to the communication, or where one of the parties to the communication has given prior consent to such interception, unless such communication is intercepted for the purpose of committing any criminal or tortious act in violation of the Constitution or laws of the United States, any State, or the District of Columbia, or for the purpose of committing any other injurious act."

Well the former director of the FBI called him a liar twice while under oath and he called him out on his "tapes" he was claiming to record so it turned out very bad for Donald because he clearly doesn't have the tapes (which proves he lies) and his own history of lying compared to Comeys' history of telling the hard truth regardless of where it lands him puts Trump in a very bad position if it comes to "one mans word against another".

Of course most of the hard specifics are only going to be discussed in the classified session that we won't get to hear about but the fact that they have scheduled over an hour to that hearing alone shows there is a lot of relevant facts to support all he has claimed in the public hearing to be true.

I love that Comey never took notes while serving Bush or Obama but man when it came to Trump it was a whole different story

IMO no damage so far to Trump. Comey is not going to drop Trump in it. He clearly has had a rethink and may will back down on the big question. All these investigations and so far nobody can lay a killer punch on Trump and the Russians.

Yep, he was a private citizen between 2005 and 2013, and only had 2 conversations with Obama: once, to discuss law enforcement policies in 2015; the other was presumably in late 2016 and was to say goodbye.

I don't see why people expected to be when literally nothing is a knockout blow to an incompetent president surrounded by people who so clearly desire power at all costs and would keep a lego mini figure in the white house if it meant securing power...

Hoping for Trump to fall over this scandal is nothing but wishful thinking.

Comey knows there is evidence against Trump but will let Mueller complete his investigation imo.

And we have no idea what he has said in the closed session.

Senator McCain still brought up Hillary Clinton on CNN. He seems to think the two things are linked.

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,938 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

No admiral Rodgers and coats didn't deny it. They said nothing.

Dizzy from the spin from Trump's lawyer.

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,938 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

The administration are jumping on comey leaking the memos to the press. That seems to be their line.

He said Trump's personality was part of the reason he began recording their interactions.

Ah jesus it sounds like they are trying to say that comey might be investigated.

Arrested more like... The war on leakers is their deflection from any potential obstruction of justice. Great isn't it how they ranted and raved over how great the DNC leaks were and now when it's leaks about them it's all whinging.
