Maybe that should be the Trump/Pence election slogan in 2020.

"America: still not quite as terrible a place for women as Saudi Arabia."

You're making a joke.. but that's actually what his defenders have been trying to argue.
A morally bankrupt wealthy old billionaire white guy pulling the strings behind the scenes.

Perhaps you've seen the list of morally bankrupt billionaires who are now in Cabinet level positions in DC?

BTW y'all are making me godamn proud of the tinfoil-like levels of attention given to angles on photographs and **** but let's just break it down by the numbers:

    http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2017/jan/21/sean-spicer/trump-had-biggest-inaugural-crowd-ever-metrics-don/

So do we still need to talk about something so morbidly ridiculous?

The time lapse pictures are over a full day, they give a clear and factual indication that Trump's crowd was way smaller than Obama's, this is also backed up by other metrics such as Transit numbers and the like. There is no discussion to be had on this, Obama had 1.8m people, Trump had 250-600k, and indeed there were more protesters the next day than people watching Trump get sworn in.

Ok lets wait and see what develops on this issue .Earth cam needs to publish it not someone on you tube or an online news website without time and date .
Are you seeing a gap in the time lapse to suggest that over an hour of the screenshots are missing maybe?
Are you suggesting that it is not a series of pictures of the Washington Mall, or that it was taken from a different day, or that it has been doctored in someway to remove people?

There is a whole days worth of images in that time lapse. What are you doubting about it?

Yes. It's part of the "alternative facts" narrative. It's not enough to lie; it's important to repeat the lie loudly and often. It's important to lie about trivial things as well as important things. It's important to continue to create the impression that nothing is objectively true, so that the administration can create its own version of reality and peddle it as a plausible alternative.

    It's gaslighting 101.

The worrying thing is, if this new alternative truth is going to be the norm then democracy is in extreme danger. Power will be in the hands a small group of people who decide what matters or not, almost like the film series Hunger Games.

Well I expected given what happened to freedom of the press under Bush and Obama that the first amendment would be under real threat with Trump's regime but wow that did not take long. Trump himself declared he was in a "running war with the media". Then we have his press secretary getting into a fiery tirade against the press on his first time up at the white house press podium which was bad enough except that many of his rants were easily proved lies. This is then followed by Conway the next day responding to questions about Spicer's lies as being "alternative facts". To which the interviewer responded:
“Wait a minute — ‘alternative facts’?” Mr. Todd asked Ms. Conway on “Meet the Press.” “Look, alternative facts are not facts. They’re falsehoods.”
Conway did not like being called out at all and then threatened the interviewer:
When Mr. Todd pressed her about why the administration had put Mr. Spicer behind the lectern for the first time to “utter a provable falsehood,” Ms. Conway responded with a sharp threat. “If we’re going to keep referring to our press secretary in those types of terms, I think that we’re going to have to rethink our relationship here,” she said.

This is the kind of person who is in charge now. The GOP is a craven disgrace.

11:49am for the still... and PBS put together the video themselves. They even slowed down the speed of the timelapse during the segment which is quite clearly when Trump was speaking and the movement of the crowd then changes direction.

    http://www.pbs.org/newshour/rundown/comparison-president-trump-and-barack-obamas-inauguration-crowds/
I guess you will now claim that 1 million people turned up in the 11 minutes between 11:49am and midday though and they captured the wrong still before those people also magically disappeared before the next shot from the timelapse.

    so nothing changes then.
Power IS already with a small group of people.

Think of politics at your local townhall level. THe top guys are all to themselves.
Do you think for one second anything changes the higher the level you go?
From Village hall, to Town hall to City hall to country hall.

People are people. whether its a village hall or a city hall.

But to be fair, this directly from the head office of Reuters

    https://www.facebook.com/JimBourg/posts/10154857366868418
I am seeing a lot of inaccurate talk and allegations online about the crowd photos from Friday's Trump inauguration that are simply not borne out by the FACTS. Now I see my own friends reposting this disinformation on Facebook.
Only one news organization had a still photographer atop the Washington monument for the inauguration and I assigned him to be there. This photo by Reuters News Pictures staff photographer Lucas Jackson was taken at 12:01:18 p.m. on Friday and not much earlier as many people are trying to claim.

    16114805_10154857353398418_3095435222732072717_n.jpg?oh=fec49018febed2a8c3f90129a9a4def0&oe=59006D06
Also have to hand it to Spicer:

"This was also the first time that fencing and magnetometers went as far back on the Mall, preventing hundreds of thousands of people from being able to access the Mall as quickly as they had in inaugurations past," [In fact, a United States Secret Service spokesperson told CNN, no magnetometers were used on the Mall.]

But he also said "This was the largest audience to ever witness an inauguration, period,"

How can it be large but also smaller because of magnets?

Whatever Trump said is true, period, so the pictures proving him a braggadocious liar must be fake.

The more real the photos look and the more outlets publish them as real, the bigger the anti-Trump conspiracy must be.

There is no one on the podium in your photo so its before .

I reckon I'll have reposted this over 25 times by the end of next month, think I'm on 5 or 6 already... skip to 47 seconds in the timelapse video for when Trump was on stage and the crowd was at it's peak.
    Billy86 wrote: »
Not really. Here is the photo comparison of Trump's inauguration compared to Obama's, and below is a screenshot of the crowd at it's peak (right before dispersing, so would likely be during Trump's time on stage). They're pretty much identical.

The angle from the podium makes the crowd look bigger because the lower angle blocks out the blank spaces, it's a technique used in lower budget movies that need scenes with big crowds.

More to the point. Where's the alternative photo that shows that huge crowd that was bigger than Obama's million plus in 2009?

Anyone remember when Republicans berated Obama for making a string of executive orders when it was clear Congress was doing nothing but acting as a roadblock?

I wonder what excuse the GOP will craft up now that Trump is issuing order after order at the moment. Obviously most of them are reversing what Obama did, but stuff like freezing hiring of all federal employees, except the military of course, is exactly the type of thing Republicans would brand Obama a 'dictator' for doing.

Peter Jackson has a company called Weta Workshop that invented a new process for creating large armies out of a few extras for films like Lord of The Rings. They're probably at a loose end right now and could probably do the job during lunchbreak.

The 2 photos below are what started the controversy and an allegation of fake news . The second higher image was taken at a different time .Spicer's press conference made no further reference to numbers at the inauguration but stated that viewing numbers were greater on all media . The reporter who brought the issue had no response .
What he did say was fake and not disputed was that the bust of Martin Luther King was not removed as suggested in fake news and caused a racial slur on the President .
He did say that fake news will not be tolerated the reason why he had previously cancelled the previous conference .

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6gMfIsUB-s&feature=youtu.be

Trump did win the election by a comfortable majority 304 to 277 get used to it .

Two brothers lived together a long time ago in my neck of the woods. They never agreed on anything. At the end of an argument, which was a daily occurence, when they had forgotten what the argument was about, one would say to the other 'your wrong anyway'.

Getting that from DT supporters here.

Delving into why this berating is being used is interesting.
Is it to brow beat the media?
Is it DT has a very thin skin?
    Is it an Orwellian approach?
Is it to create a false enemy, the press?
Is it to sidetrack and set deflect attention?

Probably all of the above and more.

Just to be clear, the Finance behind Trump was from Robert Mercer and his middle daughter Rebekah Mercer. They are climate denier, anti-aborton, anti-feminist, religious Statists. Strong connections to Council For National Policy (ultra religious right set up be Betsy DeVos father in Law, Bannon, Conway, Bossie and many more transitioners are members)) and the Heritage foundation (Becah Mercer is on the board).
Socially and in foreign relations they would be very much aligned with Russia and Alex Dugins thinking.
Robert Mercer was middle class and co-set up a hedge fund called Renaissance. He created Cambridge Analytica (a spohisticated election polling company using software on social media) to get Cruz elected. He owns 50% of Breitbart news.
As well as the Russian system of hacking, St Petersburg trolls, 100s of useful idiot (or worst) American pro Russian sites, and fake news.....The Mercer/Bannon system of Breitbart and Cambridge worked for TRump and both sides seemed to work very much in harmony.
The Breitbart/Cambridge combo worked on Brexit also. There was word of potential Russian involvement but no substantiation yet.

If the 2 investigations on Trumps campaign team, the 1 on general Flynn and the DOJ investigation on the FBI are allowed to run their course....will be interesting.
