I'm planning to buy a second car as a project, which I will immediately declare off the road while it is garaged. Tax is currently expired on the car

Can I submit the logbook change of owner and RF150 form at the same time (for the sake of expediency)?

If you go to the tax office yes. Alternatively just wait for the book and declare it off the road then, you won't have to pay any tax.

Also to note that the declaration must be made within 21 days of the date of purchase.

won't have to pay any tax anyway, there is a period allowed for declaring the car off the road. I agree thought he best way is to go to the tax office and make sure it gets all done at once.

I've found the easiest way is to wait until you get the new VRC (should be within one week in my experience). Then, using the last six digits of the VRC number as your PIN, you can declare it off the road from the start of the month you bought it here.

Also, you can keep track of the when the new VRC is issued here.

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.
