Growing peppers

Am I likely to have any success growing peppers (green/red/yellow from Tesco. Spanish) from seed? I've read the red ones might be viable, and I know about hybrids not having viable seeds. Anybody tried it?

Have grown them several times in the Greenhouse with moderate success. Generally smaller than shop bought peppers but the taste is great - properly peppery
