why are landcruisers sold for the 1st few months of this year N1 compliant and not
    after that ?
was told this in a toyota garage the wkd but the why wasnt explained
will there be any new large Suv 5 seaters for sale after this yr?

I'd say most likely a special order was placed with the distributor and they're running out of the N1 built and approved landcruisers. So it may be they're just selling whatever in stock and done after that.

there was never a way to legally convert a RR sport. the Full Fat range could be converted but the sport didn't meet requirements (thats not to say that some dodgy company didn't lie on the forms, but it was never really above board)

Be wary, theres a few of those services I have seen that basically say "we convert it to a 2 seat commercial and then in 5-6 months we get it changed to 5 seat" of course you pay upfront for 2 seats and a floor welded in , come time to put in the rears its "ohh sorry, the rules changed" and of course you signed a form that allows them to keep your money.

    * I have no idea if the advertised service is doing this, so feel free to check, but this '2 seat first' scam is rife.

saw a 7 seater 2011 Discovery for sale at a dealer - with the mad 2,350 road tax - says in ad can be converted into 5 seater crew cab .
    surely that's not possible ?

I 'crewcabbed' a 2007 5 seater 'jeep' from private to commercial within the past week. All paperwork correct and legal. No problem whatsoever.

I heard something recently about a group of dealers going to the EU.

Apparently if the laser measurements are correct revenue must continue to allow Crewcabs.

    Also heard this recently too.
One dealer on DoneDeal saying he can now convert E70 X5 to crew cab due to recent changes.

I saw a 2012 cayenne GTS for sale at cameron cars for a while with the 2,350 road tax - it was for sale for a while - not sure if its sold now but last time I saw ad it had become a crew cab !

Hi lads am I right in saying that if I buy a second hand 5 seater machine such as x5 or cayenne that has crewcab tax, that vehicle will keep that crewcab tax rate until its end of life? Or could that change?

It could change as soon as when you go to tax it.... some tax offices require more than the commercial use RF111A form (garda witnessed declaration)....some want insurance certs detailing goods use (commercial policy) & some will want even more for a crew cab (employees etc etc )

Could I not tax it online instead?

The first time of taxing a commercial in your ownership cannot be done online afaik

Did it recently in cork, with a used crew cab, the pricks wanted my vat no., and insurance cert declaration it was used for business..ie copy of ins cert

Does one need to have actual employees or is it good enough to be a registered company? I don't have any employees but I have used contractors. Located in the Cork/Tipp/Waterford area so I could go to any of their tax offices.

    Correct
You cannot tax a goods vehicle online for first taxing.

Each MTO has different "requirements" (which have no legal basis - but that's another story) that you must fulfll before they enable online taxation for your ownership.

In KCC I was asked only for the RF111A form signed by the Gardai, and my insurance number and my PPS number.
In meath I could not get commercial tax despite having a registered company. Ended up registering the vehicle in the company name at my friends house in kildare to get the tax. Not paying 1809 tax for a commercial!

Dirty f””king b”@€;&trds! It’s shocking to think no one in this country can drive anything remotely nice! Over in germany or even indeed Northern Ireland, they’re driving 5 litre beamers and 4.7 liter Maserati’s for 80 euro tax. And we paying hundreds and thousands for 2-3 litre standard model cars!! I hate this country and the dirty corrupt ****ers running it

We taxed a crew cab in the company name recently in dublin. Needed the rf form, form signed by a garda, a weigh bridge docket for under 3500kg and the original insurance cert. Id sent in a full colour copy of the insurance cert but wasnt good enough for them
