Looking into getting a regular 10/22 but I like the price. Can see the look not working for the local plod.

Its only a stock so you don't need a license

Hang on. I doubt that is 100% true.

Changing the stock can change a gun from unrestricted to restricted, can't it?

If you put it on a rifle, then you need a licence.

AFAIK it's shotguns that have the restrictions to pistol grips, folding stocks etc. The only issue I think is the capacity of the magazine for a semi auto.

Ruger 10/22 a" Barbie" gun if ever.(dress it up how you please)Cookie is right this nonsense with pistol grips applies to shotguns(in certain cases).Only thing is the mag capacity.Ten shot only if unrestricted.(Nothing to say you cant have a bunch of 10 shot mags taped back to back mind...Legal as they dont hold more than ten rounds each and you have to stop to change them......Go figure)
Just make sure it will take normal ruger 10 rounders as that design might preclude ten rounds fitting in the magwell.
