I,m looking for a rough estimate of rewiring for a 3 bed house.
Whats needed is 1 light in each room,
3 bedrooms, kitchen, tv room, hallway needs 2 lights,
2-4 power points in each room.depending on room size.
power to bathroom for electric shower .
    power to immersion boiler.
power to gas boiler beside kitchen.
house is 700sq ft in Dublin2.
Last time i checked on this forum it was 4-5k basic rewiring .
plus 2-3 k to get power turned on by esb network.
There was brand new consumer unit installed in 2012 .
no power there since 2011 .

i,ll be running wiring ethernet cables myself.
All plaster in the front room and kitchen roof is removed .
house is 60 plus years old.
In the middle of a terrace.
should i call 2 electricians from recci to give me a estimate.
registered electricians to give a completion cert .
i mean by power point a single power socket to plug in a tv or fridge.
    Thats 6 rooms that,ll have 2-4 power sockets .
    i,ll have 2 lights in lower/upper hallway,
    one light in bathroom,
no power sockets in the bathroom ,or hallway.
    i estimate i,ll need 22 power sockets and 9-10 ceiling lights .
the height of the rooms is 11-12 ft .floor to ceiling .
The existing wiring takes 3 routes , from the hallway through the ceilings ,
eg gap between rafters and ceiling plaster .
and theres 3 channels going upstairs 4- 7inch wide where the wires go through .
the roof panels in the bathroom can be easily opened or lift up to run cables.
Theres 3-5 old cables in the attic for the bedroom ceiling lights .
channel is a vertical space between walls where pipes and esb cables go .

Call 5 electricians, preferably companies which have been recommended by someone you know. Before you commit, ask can you see some similar work carried out recently. Ensure that you have a plan or room by room list of exactly what you are getting. Be clear as to who makes good plaster work etc. Take lots of photos of ongoing work in progress. Ensure that the company is safe electric registered and do not make the final payment unless you have received a copy of the completion certain. Best of luck,

I will only hire an electrician listed as registered on the recci website as i need an electrician who will do the work and provide a completion cert ,
i don,t see the point of taking photos, i,ll photograph all the rooms before work starts .
i,ll take care of all replastering myself.
IL,L write a letter re work i need done, with a map of the rooms,.
eg one light here, 2 sockets here .
How many payments do i make, is it 3 or more ,
What time to make payment 2, do i get a contract from the electrician ,a list of work to be done.

Your post is very difficult to read so I'm not sure if many people are going to take the time to decipher it. I only skimmed through it but I don't think it would be possible for anyone to give you any accurate idea on costs without seeing the job.

Best advice is to get a few quotes, from recommended registered electricians if possible as the poster above said and take it from there. Just be aware that existing wire and the routes taken by it may be ignored by the electrician as it may not comply with current regulations and everything may have to be done from scratch.

I, Will have to use a registered electrician as i need to get a completion cert in order to get connected to the esb network
I think esb networks will charge me 2k plus for the new connection ,since its disconnected
    more than 2 years.

Legally you have to use a registered electrician to do the work but you are right in saying a completion cert is required in order for the ESB to connect you to the grid.
I'm not sure on the connection fee but here's a link(you may have already seen it) that may help:
