Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Lallana's easily our most important player now. What a performance.

    The new 'Goal Suarez!'?

Firmino and Origi might not be gelling but the are working for the team tracking back and not sulking if something doesn't work out for them.

Also as part of a front 6 they are dragging defenders all over the shop to the benefit of the other attacking players.

Good job just what was needed a nice win.

and breath! After toiling somewhat in ther first half - Klopp just said let's do a Pulis on it, and it worked a treat. Origi can make himself available for those balls in a way Firmino obviously can't.

Comfortable bar maybe 5 or 10 minutes. Middlesborough just dont have enough going forward anyway tbh.

A win was a must and we duly delivered. Happy with the performance.

super performance delighted with that. most pleased that Klopp learned his lesson and changed his tactics to avoid the Middlesbrough press by going long, they just couldn't get into the game.

Origi doing a stunning job too....

That's a great result after a difficult few games.

3 goals, Away win, clean sheet.

    What's not to like?

Shows good mettle to get a win like that when needed.

Someone should tot up his goals to minutes ratio for this season. Most of his early appearances were for the last 5-10 minutes of games.

That was his 17th goal in his 50th game today and he is still only 21.

Of those 50 games I wonder how many 90 minutes he played.

Hope Origi off is just a pecaution.

We went on to win after Mig make a few saves and caught some awkward balls, had he spilt anything Middles had players to tap in. Its the difference .

All set up for Monday now. I'm thinking Everton overshot their load against Arsenal last night so the worst we can expect on Monday is a draw.

Great performance tonight in fairness. Especially the 2nd half. Looked a tricky one beforehand given the injuries and recent defensive problems.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 40,061 ✭✭✭✭Harry Palmr

Origi's minutes/goals ratio must be better than Sturridges at this rate (I mean overall). It's about 130 minutes per goal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,740 ✭✭✭✭MD1990

Origi has really stepped up with Coutinho out injured. 5 in 5 for him.

Great result tonight, have only seen the goals but by all accounts we were very good especially in the second half. Impressive form origi long may it last and lallana, well he is in superb form this season it's great to have a midfielder weighing in with goals.

Fair play to Origi, he seemed to be getting a lot of unwarranted criticism earlier in the season, nice to see he's turning people around, he'll be undroppable at this rate even when Cout and Can are back.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,037 ✭✭✭✭niallo27

Anyone see Jose trying to do a klopp at full time. It was a bit embarrassing. The players didn't know what to do.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,928 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

    Lallana is amazing.

Under one manager he couldn't last 60 minutes and his Cruyff turns turned nowhere.

Under this manager he is just a machine who can run all day and his Cruyff turns lead to goals and assists for fun.

Approx 122 mins per goal or so after tonight I think for this season. 7 goals in 852 mins.

For us overall its 17 goals in 2478 mins so a goal every 146 mins. Its excellent considering a lot of those minutes are from the bench, he never really got a stretch of 10 games in a row so that would be interesting to see.

Danny overall has 58 goals in 7310 mins or a goal every 126 mins which is absolutely phenomenal, but to be harsh about it a lot of those goals came in his first season and a half. Still though he has a better strike rate over a longer time frame. Even this season his goal per min ratio is like 130 or something.

Its good to see Origi doing well at a young age anyway. A bright future ahead hopefully.

It's been a while since our midfield could score enough goals to give more than a token help to the team. It's reassuring.

Well that was the best second half performance of the season for me, reminded me of the first half against Hull.

14/21 points in those "winnable" games, not great but not terrible either.

I was a huge critic of lallana in the past but his form in 16 and this season has been fantastic. Still has a tendency to be indecisive at times, but has curbed it and a huge asset.

Tough call made on the keeper, but that's what the manager is paid to do. Hopefully karius can get his mojo, because Mig has proven not to be a long term option.

Overall 'pool looked very comfortable tonight, good bounce after a tough week.

    Was matip injured?

Good result and a clean sheet. Lallana is just pure class. I honestly think the big boys Barca & Real will be very interested in signing him.

  • Subscribers Posts: 32,855 ✭✭✭✭5starpool

Klopp isn't concerned by Origi's injury, which is very good news. Only a little knock he says.

If he keeps scoring he'll feel very hard done by if Coutinho comes back in for him for City. If things continue as they are though, Firmino might get some games off. If Coutinho is fit for the City game, then barring other injuries, he starts on the bench I reckon, especially with Sunderland 2 days later and Mane maybe gone from then on.0

In fairness we did batter the bollox out of them only to let them back in near the end.

Oh we certainly did batter them, but like I said that was a shadow of their regular team. What was their defence again? Chambers and Holding???

The blunder against Everton was in his second season, September 2006.

Fair enough. I only mentioned Reina because I was trying to offer up an alternative to DDG for comparisons to Karius. Didn't mean for the discussion for the day to be about Reina. He was class. I would give my right arm to have Reina at his peak back or someone of that ilk tbh.
